4Runner is being chopped up. Ordering a lot of shit. Most expensive is my giant list of tools I now own. Recently added a TIG and a plasma cutter

Soon it will have a crawl box, 14” ADS coilovers, full float 80 axle, and a large fuel cell

What's your plan for the fuel cell? I've been thinking of adding one in the spare tank location. Then cutting into the back to move it up about 6". Then building a platform around it. I'm still running stock tank in stock location and I'm pretty sure it's only got about 14 gallons of capacity right now. lol

Pretty much exactly my plan. Cut the floor out, throw an X brace across the frame rails in the back. Build a fuel sell mount off of that. And build a hump hatch of the whole thing with some door sealant on the edges.

Probably go for 22 gallons or so

I've been looking at this cell.

    JAZ 32 Gallon

It's for a Jeep but it fits and the heights will work out once the filler neck work is done. My reasons are mainly to have a larger range but also to eliminate my stock tank. This thing will tuck up much higher then doing the 250 tank swap to the spare location.

22 is already more than the 14 I had. I’ll probably be trailering it mostly next year anyways. Also try to avoid foam if you can!

There's no foam in the cell. JEGS just listed it wrong. lol

I might need to look into a truck and trailer if I keep breaking shit. My rig was just up on a flat bed for the second time coming home Friday. Me and a buddy did the Rubicon Thursday. I got hung up on my diff on the exit of Little Sluice. I went back and forth a few times to try and unstick myself. Eventually I got a tug to get out. Friday we headed over to Slick Rock and I got hung up hard on the diff coming off one of the optional obstacles. We finished Slick Rock and where planning on heading over to Niagara Rim. As I was airing up I noticed a shit ton of gear oil under my rear diff. I tightened the lower nuts but they just spun.

I filled it up and headed over to Monitor Pass where I filled it up again. It was bad. By the time I got over Monitor back to 395 I was down 2 quarts or so. I threw in the towel and called AAA. Yesterday I pulled the diff. Turns out both lower nuts where stripped out. I also decided now would be a good time to send the diff back to ECGS so they can put the new bonded seal in my ARB. So I'm down for 2 weeks. lol

That’s an intense weekend hahah! I’m getting rid of my daily driver GTI for a Tundra later this year. Waiting for the 2020 Tundra to drop to get keyless entry and CarPlay.

I’m also about to send my 8” into ECGS. Mine blew a pinion seal and it howling like a bitch now. ARB seal is blown too.

So why’d you choose 14’s? Why not build the links and see what would fit? Are you going through the wheel well?

I didn’t see any benefit in going to 16’s over 14’s. I like 14’s because they’re the max length of shock for Ultra4, which means I can keep these shocks for future builds. And ya I’ll cut out the whole cargo area and start fresh

Frame notch for coilovers, cross bar across frame rails. Mount fuel cell on top of X. Make access hatch

Sweet! So what are the shocks mounting on, a tower, hoop connecting them? If/when I get to something like this, I was thinking towers with a brace either against the seat backs or maybe up to the roof.

Ya they’re coilover towers. I want to brace them, but haven’t decided yet. Realistically I have air bumps as well. So I’m hoping the towers don’t see too much force

Cool. How far above the frame do you think they will be?

Depends on how much uptravel I can squeeze out of it. I don’t mind trimming the rear fender area a tad, but I don’t want to go full Assburns where they aren’t clean lines. So we’ll see. I think probably less than 12”

Sweet, excited to see how it plays out.

Speaking of assburns, is he still banned? Are there updates on his truck on T4R?

Still banned I think? He’s on the new forum IDPOR.com that he started with dtaco06. There’s some cool stuff on there, but the circle jerk is real around those parts

Needs some armor all. But picked up a full set of weather techs and the cargo liner for $100 locally. Steal. Seat covers next.
