Ouch...I saw that!! I hate when road signs jump out in front of you like that...hahaha. Sorry...but it does look like the mountain logo now. The green over the TRD looks like the mountain tops...lol! :itllbuffout:

Seriously....hopefully you'll be able to buff it out and all will be good :fingerscrossed:

Unfortunately because of the weather it is going to stay like that till it starts to get significantly warmer. But I will try to buff it out in the Spring. Lesson learned for sure though.

Glad you see back to posting again and feeling better!

You'll be fine even if you don't top it off. Also not engaging 4x4 doesn't matter because your diff is always spinning, even in 2WD.

I didn't know that either! The forums always tell us to engage 4wd to lube everything up

You don't need to top off. Sometimes it "burps" a little out the breather. I have topped mine off twice now. I almost wonder if the correct level is just under the fill hole and it equalizes through the breather. Who knows

Really? even with ADD? Wouldn't just the left side spin?

So here is how our 4WD systems work.

Transfer case has 2 driveshafts, 1 to each diff. If the car is in motion, 2WD or 4WD, both driveshafts are spinning.
Now the Front Diff is directly connected to the driveshaft, therefore it is always spinning as well.
The CV Axles are attached to the wheels directly, therefore, if the car is in motion, 2WD or 4WD, both CV's are spinning.
The part that separates 2WD from 4WD is ADD. Which is a vacuum powered actuator on one side of the diff that disconnects the CV axle from the gears inside the diff.
In 4WD the actuator allows the CV to connect with the diff causing both CV's to be connected to an open differential, spinning the wheel that requires less force.
In 2WD the actuator disconnects the passenger side CV axle. So yes the Driver side CV is still connected, but it's an open diff, the diff is gonna spin the wheel that requires less force, which is the side that is disconnected due to the ADD actuator.

    Hopefully that makes some sense

Right. I would imagine just having one side spin the diff is much less resistance than both. I have always wondered why there is such a low maximum speed on the 4wd system. Because, like you said almost everything is spinning all the time anyways...

Technically yes, in 2WD, 3 wheels are connected to the transfer case.
But assuming you have an open rear diff, only 1 rear wheel is getting power in 2WD.
