I have the savage and really like them (only front ifs). The two piece design really makes removing them and oil changes so easy. I can hold each piece with one hand to install rather than bringing a jack out and trying to balance the on the jack.

I am definitely going with Savage unless there is a killer Shrockworks group buy again. Savage prices are hard to beat.

Cheap too. Body damage shouldn't be too hard to fix, with so many 2nd gens junk yards. I really want that era truck. Can't be had for less than 5-6 grand, which is annoying.

Seems like a great deal....I paid $900+ for my 5 piece skids powder coated from Shrockworks. I had bookmark RAT, but when I went to order he had just shut down cause he graduated and was moving. Oh well...I love my Shrockworks! Covered front to rear including my gas tank!! Good luck...let us know how you like them...

Awww...Sorry it didn't help. I'm sure you'll like your Savage. Looks like good quality stuff.

Wwwhhhaaattt???? You take off your skid plates to change your oil?? That's nuts! Let me school y'all and help make your life soooooooo much easier! Next time you change your oil, replace your drain plug with a Fumoto drain plug. Then next time you change the oil...all you have to do is turn the valve and point the hose into the drain bucket. Easy peasy....zero mess!! Good money spent...like $35. Here's a link(link is for 3.4L). Heck, maybe someone could get a group buy going on this? *cough**cough* @ramonortiz55 Who knows....

Now this is my kinda camp site. I can't stand going to a camp ground like KOA; where you have a camper 10 feet away on both sides of you!! But hey, they do have a tree or two per-camp site...haha! You're very lucky living out there Lisa...I'm big time jealous!! Beautiful country out that way.

I wonder if there is some driveline damage. You could also just go fiberglass as well.

I avoid campgrounds as much as I can, so much better being out on my own away from everything and everyone. Occasionally when I'm in Yellowstone or Grand Teton I'll stay in the CG for convenience but I've found enough places just outside of the parks to avoid that most of the time. I actually feel safer being on my own too - too many sloppy, noisy campers out there.

Vince once you get it on there...you'll be wondering why in the world didn't I do this soon...haha! Seriously though...glad I could help you!

Oh I totally agree with you. You're way safer when you're out by yourself! No drunk knuckle head playing with his gun or some green horn attempting to dock his 38ft land yacht at 22:00 head lights on honking his horn hitting trees. Yeah...I'd take be out in the middle of the woods by myself any day over a camp ground.

Oh I had one on the 4runner (switched it to the Tundra) and love it. So much easier and less messy, but the Savage skids don't have a hole to access it. I don't mind removing the skids though as the stupid oil filter always makes a giant mess.

I thought the savage skids have an access hole for the drain plug?
