Makes sense. My local Napa only had the Valvoline when I did the rear axle seals, and I get a college student discount there plus a friend works there so I bought my stuff there. Right now I'm on spring break and away from the 4runner so I figured wouldn't hurt to save a little money on Amazon and wait for it to ship.

 

I have an engineer buddy who hates RP, no clue why. I run Valvoline in everything. All full synthetic.

 

Royal Purple is good stuff, can't go wrong with it.

I need to get with @Russtoy and order some from him

 

what's the latest scoop on your t-case?

 

I really need my fix.... Need. to. go. camping.

 

As far as I know, it's being shipped in to Billings and I'll pick it up there on my way back to school when I head out. Prepaid for it, $650 . Toyota in Butte is holding two crush washers for the t case, a tranny output shaft seal, and a shifter gasket for me to pick up when I get back. Dropped $75 on Amazon last night for a grease gun, Valvoline synthetic moly grease, and two quarts of RP. And my roommate is already back in Butte so I think I'm all set to get it put in this Friday!

I'm dying to fill my camping craving right now. It's been too damn long. I'm probably going to head up to Glacier National Park for a bit with the girlfriend soon and do some good hiking and fire road driving.

 

I think @ramonortiz55 needs to take a road trip to come visit some of us now that he's not working!

 

So...the dude I bought the shocks from didn't supply the hardware. I call swayaway and they said aFe power bought them out so I got transferred over there. aFe says they're in the process of transferring everything over so they won't have parts for a month or so. Any other suggestions? Go to a hardware store and see what fits? Need the three mounting bolts and the bottom bolt unless I could reuse the OEM bolt for the bottom.

Wonder why he doesn't like RP? If I have any problems with it, I'll drain it and put in Amsoil instead. I don't know anyone with problems with Amsoil haha

Dude. I was at Glacier two years ago.. . it is amazing..

Come visit and I'll take you to some sick ass places up there. Lots of cool fire roads that take you up into Canada, hidden back road lodges, etc...
