If the 3.0 has been rebuilt your probably going to be good for awhile. With the auto they are slooooooow. Hopefully it is regeared with the 35's.

If it's not I would regear it with 4.88s. Or is there a different size y'all would recommend?

Depending on where you live and what not 4.88 or 5.29 would be good. I like the 2nd gens the motor/trans combo is what I dislike the most. Really want to go get one and do the blazeland lift kit on it

I like them a lot also. I may snag this one up or keep looking. I've always wanted an older 4Runner, fj or Range Rover.

I think you'll like the 4Runner over the Range Rover. British electronics lol

Maybe 3-4K but the rear hatch and front fender need to be replaced. I can find those for about $500 total though.

This one fell into my lap by chance. Wasn't looking for a 3rd gen but the deal was too good to pass up.

I had a 95 3.0 auto and on 31's it was a dog. Regear might help but don't expect much. Take it for a drive and see what you think. If it's just a wheeler it may be fine but driving long distance will always be a challenge.

That year 4runner came stock with 4.88's on some of the 4runner's. Good cheap option if you have salvage yards nearby.

Also @Acerwin it looks like they just slapped some nice new 35's on an otherwise plain 4runner, so expect to have to do a ton of clearancing.

I was going to mention that. Doesn't look like it has much room in the fenders

It is but it's going to take longer than I thought. Got offered a new job and it cut my money back just a little but in the long run it'll be way worth it. Also gotta go to China soon for work. So a lot of stuff has just pushed it back some.

Torched, formed it, stitched it, epoxied and fiber glassed the back and let it sit over night.

Time for sand and bondo later tonight after work.

I bought paint online. Called local body shops and they don't mix and put it in a rattle can. Didnt have a paint gun and I'm not buying one just for that spot. Bondo and primer won't be too bad for now. I drove to work with no bumper lookin real ratchet like. Yeah, I was ashamed.

Oh, has anyone used paintscratch.com for paint? That's where I ordered from.

I've heard that the Dulpicolor paint matches that they sell on Amazon and some autopart stores are pretty good, at least for toyota colors. Maybe check your subie color code to see if they make in a rattlecan.
