    Help please:

Any experience out there with TYC brand. I need a new starter and for $90 can get one for my 2.7L 4 banger.

    Good and bad experiences appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

I've only heard of tyc company making headlights/tail lights. I know they make good ones but as far as starters, I'm not sure. Give it a try, it comes with warranty right?

+1. I'm running TYC headlights and signal lights (converted to driving lights), and am very happy with the fit/finish/quality. Unfortunately, I don't know anything about them making starters.

I have a TYC starter in my Celica and it works great! Only had it for 4 months but starts strong and fast every time I turn the key.

get a starter from advanced or what ever auto store is near you, make sure it has a warranty on it so you can bring it back.

I ended buying from RockAuto a DENSO rebuild for $93.

I do not know what parts are new, I assume brushes, and HOPE the bearing and clutch are new but the write-up did not indicate what was new and what was "washed and polished to make you feel good". I will keep the old one and take it apart and replace all old parts.

I drive 150 miles a day, so reliability is my prime concern.

    Thanks to all who replied.:):):)

I will update with the experience once the new one is in, and I take the old one apart.

BEARINGS IN ALTERNATOR DIED in 6 months normal street use. No riversmud, just street commuter driving. Taking to local shop to have real bearings placed in it. rest still working but a horrible whine like power steering pump, but in alternator. Reusing old spare until rebuilt. be warned. this was TYC china brand.

I have TYC and the only reason I bought it was because it was a new, not rebuilt unit. Ive always had bad luck with rebuilt units

Grey wire and keyless entry. I like stock.
TYC doesn't make starters. They retag and rebox other brands. If you buy one, good chance you're getting a Bosch, Denso, or Remy.
