My first vehicle ever was a 1989 Toyota Pickup, and needless to say I was stoked on the idea of a new Tacoma.

When I bought the truck it already had the ARB Deluxe Front Bumper and the window tint.20141003_183207.jpg
    20150112_153133.jpg IMG_20150112_153933.jpg

After a few months I couldn't handle the terribly plasti-dipped stock wheels so I picked up (5) Method Race wheels. Unbeknownst to me, (and this is where the sharp learning curve of being a new Tacoma owner set in), the offset was much different than stock so I ended up having some slight rubbing issues which was eventually temporarily remedied by removing the fender flares.

Took some time to take a few small camping trips with the truck bed tent we were given.
    20150410_153758.jpg

It wasn't too long until I'd scoured TW enough to realize that rock sliders were the next order of business, especially cause I could write them off as "basically running boards" to the wife.

    UPDATE:
Well after almost 10 months, I am finally on the East Coast, and I was fortunate to spend some time at the North Pole and spent a lot of time under the ice.
    IMG_0906.jpg IMG_1023.jpg IMG_0940.jpg
(I am on the USS Hampton (SSN 767) and the submarine in the background on the far right picture is the USS Hatrford (SSN 768) for anyone interested. This is ICEX 2016.)

But now that I am home and re-united with my truck I ordered from DSM a set of King 2.5" front/rear shocks, some TC UCA's, Dakar leaf springs, and some other goodies. if You are in the market for anything, Down South Motorsports are awesome guys and even throw in a military discount which is awesome! Once I get back from a quick trip to CA I'll be chomping at the bit to get it installed on the truck on my last few days of leave before its back to the grind. Just waiting for my wallet to bounce back a little and then let the games begin. It also doesn't help that every time I open my instagram it is flooded with OverlandExpo pictures.

UPDATE: Out with the old, in with the new. Thought I'd be getting an alignment today, but the service mechanics at the Toyota dealership said that they can't do an alignment until I get some clearance in there (aka a CMC and some fender trimming) which is irritating considering they still charged me $50 for their "advice", but I suppose a CMC is on the way. Gotta love the wife getting in there to help and make last minute runs to HomeDepot. Front is done, just need to wrap up the rear this weekend (and hopefully some cutting will happen!). I love the way it sits already even without adjusting the Kings, glad I went with the 700# springs. Also, not sure if it was just me since I have the ARB bumper, but I had to trim some of the bracket that holds the remote reservoir. image.jpg IMG_1168.jpg IMG_1171.jpg IMG_1173.jpg IMG_1174.jpg

UPDATE: The rear is done....and boy did it suck. The OME Dakar springs were not as easy as I first thought they would be. But after an entire day I finally got the Kings and Dakars on. Now on to some fender trimming, a CMC and trim the bushwackers to look real purtty. Then an alignment and some longer brakes lines, and who knows what after that.

Also, met the crew of Mountain State Overland and had a fun meet up at Papa Wolf Co. in Portsmouth, NH, met a bunch of cool people with some awesome rigs.

UPDATE: I dove in head first this last weekend and went past the point of no return. Cut the front fenders about 1.5", cut the Bushwackers about 1". Next on the list was a CMC. Ordered some plates from @RelentlessFab (which got all the way across the country super fast!) and the wife took the truck in while I was at work. I enlisted the help of the guys over at Vague Industries in Dublin, NH. They were awesome to say the least! Super fair prices and excellent craftsmanship, so if you live in the New England area I totally recommend them. They took care of the CMC, some pinch weld "repositioning", and smoothed out my cuts on the fenders.
Next up: snorkel and soft top.

UPDATE: My rear end finally got a long awaited upgrade from @Pelfreybilt which I am super happy with, not to mention I finally have a full size spare! I still have a couple small projects like relocating the backup cam and getting my hand on some Jerry Cans and Baja rear lights. Hopefully my snorkel will get here in the future anytime, yes I am apart of the CF that @mahaloTaco created, so a snorkel is coming....maybe?

UPDATE: Leer 100R. USGI 5 gallon water cans. Safari Snorkel waiting on install. Prinsu cabrac and toprac ordered. Rear camera relocated for now, I'll get something better in the future. Right now the camera is zip tied on and sandwiched between the bumper and license plate, but it works surprisingly well and i didn't have to extend the wiring for the time being. Other things in the works are a CVT tent in the GB, some Tred Pro's, bed reinforcements, Pelfreybilt battery cage, a full set of KO2s, Switch Pro 8100 and lights soon.

UPDATE: New shoes on the rig, swapped the old tires with some BFG KO2s. Also finally got the Prinsu racks installed, now I just need to mount the CVT tent up there. I took the cap off to install the Thule tracks and loved the look with the cap off so I am thinking about getting a bed rack or some bed bars for summer time use.

Finally got the CVT mounted up! Heading out to Acadia National Park in a few weeks and wanted it all prepared ahead of time. This is the point where I am glad that I have put up with all of the Dakar squeak for so long because now the ride is nice and rear end isn't sagging with all the weight. Still need to cut that dang exhaust!

Not the most current pictures, the tent is off and the shell is back on.
Re-geared with some 4.88s, I have a AllPro Apex aluminum bumper ready to get swapped, dropped a Duracell AMG Group 31 in with the Pelfreybil battery cage I bought eons ago.

I also took the swing gate off the rear bumper for now, and I have to say I am enjoying the easier maneuverability and the backup camera back in the factory location.
