U-Bolt Length After OME Lift Install

    Installed OME Full Kit yesterday, with 885s up front and Deaver AAL in the rear. Awesome!

    No excessive driveline vibration at all speeds, CV angles are OK - for now, Light UCAs in the future. Camber/Caster are within acceptable ranges.

    However, take a look at the shots of the remaining U-Bolt threads, especially the variation between the front of the spring perch, and rear of the spring perch. Since pinion angle was slightly increased due to the lift, some difference between the two is expected.

    What is the consensus...opt for longer U-Bolts to gain more exposed threads, or run these. Oh, and evenly torqued to 76 ft. lbs. - Yes, I know the FSM says 37, or was that 73...?

    Whats the prob? You got them trqued and less threads to possibly mess up. I would hnestly just let it be.

    Not much margin for error. Locktite the things if you're gonna keep 'em. Better yet, go with a u-bolt flip kit.

    Thanks Chris. Not to re-hash an old topic...although that 37 Ft. Lbs. for U-Bolts, per FSM had me somewhat concerned.

    Axles are pretty important to the whole truck thing...

    37# is way to little torque. 75# is a good value on OEM U bolts, though some folks go up to 90#'s...
