The only reason you would need the bd version is for the carb sticker.

Not true considering it says it's "recommended" not required. Here's a fuel injector work sheet I checked if the 2.55 pulley needs more fuel then the 455 cc that is already on the Magnuson/TRD kit.

    https://www.rceng.com/technical.aspx#Fuel_Injector_Worksheet_

It will require 395 bhp to maximize the 455 cc injectors at 80% duty cycle. The 2.55 pulley only gives you 30-40 more then the stock blower of 305 hp so 345 hp... I disagree here. More then likely you'll need the 255 or 320 lph fuel pump then that extra injector.

Not to argue here but I like to make sure we're not buying stuff we don't need.

@loginfailed is running the 2.55 with 7th injector. His 6 injectors are at 80% and 7th is at 38%.
    And yeah, fuel pump too.

@Oreo Cat regardless of which kit you buy, get a wideband AFR gauge.

And it sounds like you should spend some time familiarizing yourself with the rabbit hole of forced induction. There are some great threads here.
If you want to read about the infamous bully dog, read the supercharger group buy thread.

That will work for some, but still have flexibility limitations.

If we put all our faith in the injector calculators I would be making 441 bhp!

But the UCON with it's cam gears add maybe 30 hp more.

    Summary:

The more expensive S/C comes with the Bully Dog Tuner
The BG tune is crap DON'T use it.
Put the BD into a desk drawer and forget about it.
If your in Cali it may be worth it to you to get the CARB sticker so you can possibly pass smog even when using the UCON assuming they do the SMOG check only using the OBDII port.
If your in Cali and you don't have the CARB sticker for the S/C you WON'T pass smog

2.85 pulley should be coupled with a fuel pump upgrade.
Smaller then 2.85 pulley REQUIRES fuel pump upgrade AND 7th injector.

If you do long tube headers + Y pipe in Cali you won't pass smog.
If you do cold air intake in Cali you won't pass smog.

If you can do all of the above and still pass smog then
If you can do all of the above and still pass smog then you probably also don't need to order it with the BD tuner or need the CARB sticker.

Should pass easily the sniff test too with stock headers and Y-pipe.

Pretty much all CAI don't include the carbon filter that is required to pass smog in cali.

Is there a difference between the supercharges too? Or am I just paying an extra $500 for a sticker?
