I've read on here that ucons dont work right with a flashed ecu. I don't know that it has been just an idea.

You probably knew this already, but I’ll repeat it in case anyone else doesn’t know.

Any time that uTune is “in focus” on the laptop, the space bar becomes a shortcut to initiate a log. This makes it a little safer and easier when youre trying to drive and you want to log something. Gives you a bigger target.

Possible it wasn’t replaced. Could be that he ran a TRD flash initially. Which is what I did. And then later bought the UCON.

That has been found mostly true. Quite a few people have swapped out theirs for factory tuned ECU's.

Is there an easy way to find out that it's been flashed?
What do you guys think of the discoveries via Ultragauge with ucon vs without?
I can put it back in and do a datalog to make everyone happy. But at this point we see that the ucon is either causing bank two to run rich or its not telling bank two anything hence bank2 runs rich. Without the ucon installed Everything is rich with it installed bank one operates propper but bank 2 remains rich.

Yesir. The spacebar triggers the sample option. A "datalog" is another word for what Scott calles a sample file.

I dont know how to show yall this. But here you go. Right at 50% of the sample it tripped the cel. throwing p0300, 302 & 304. Yesterday after plugging the ucon back in i couldn't get it to trip I only got a pending p0175. Sorry for the delay.

So the highest RPM reached in the log was 1427. When does the misfire happen, only at low RPM? Pedal position at that point is 0.5% was the throttle being press at all? 1427 seems like a pretty high RPM for less than 1% throttle pedal position.

At which column in the log did the misfires occur? If you look at the Can1 tab, P0300, P0302 and P0304 are there for the entire log. I thought you actually captured it happening, but the codes were set before this log was initiated.

I got a whole new one for you guys. Just checking to see if this is common or if this happens to possibly be something because the Ucon is mated to a TRD flashed ECU. If I drive the truck hard and use the throttle for what I like to do with it, the truck runs great. But if I slow down and try to get some sort of decent mpg and just drive normally, it feels like the truck is falling on its face right after it shifts into 2nd gear. It will eventially get past that feeling and get going and then go to 3rd and so on. But 2nd gear just feels gutless and it has no power. even if I give it a bit more throttle it just does what it wants to do on its own until it gets past the blah point. No check engine light, no nothing. Hoping this is just part of what the Ucon does while it is learning that I am now driving without at least half throttle all the time. But could it be a TRD flash Ucon fight? The transmission acting up?

Mine responded similarly when my intercooler pump went out. Might check that just cause.

The cel bagan to flash at 50% of the sample recording. I was holding the throttle just under 1500rpm because that is where it trips the cel at idle conditions. During driving conditions it happens when taking off from a stop or shifting to second while driving gently. If i rev up and take off or am at wot she screems but still shows rich bank two. Down to -30 lng/tm trm give or take. I dont understand the utune enough to tell you precisely. But i was sure to clear visible codes first.

I didn’t think there would be any real engine issues if the intercooler pump went out, since all it does is help cooler air get cycled in the engine. I thought these S/Cs could technically run without the pump, you just won’t get the colder air benefits.....am I wrong?

I’ve got an engine on the stand that begs to differ with you. I had an intercooler pump fail (the pump that circulates coolant between the low temp radiator, and the actual intercooler radiator in the supercharger’s plenum).

I had some very light engine pinging that I was trying to track down. No check engine lights whatsoever. If the engine wasn’t under load, it was sluggish to respond to throttle input. If I got on it a little bit, the engine seemed more responsive. Higher intake charge temps are the enemy. To check the pump, simply remove the reservoir lid while the truck is on. You should see fluid circulating. If it is stagnant, you lost your pump.

Probably for the best. If I wasn’t in California, I would have the URD set up for sure. Someone once described the TRD Supercharger as the Poverty Charger. Seems like you have to spend a fortune to get the performance numbers that a Rotrex system starts at.
