I was taking care of a friend this weekend that has a viral infection. well now i have it, the way my friend got better was anti-biotics. well i went to the doc yesterday told her bout my muscle soreness, lack of appetite, yellow mucus with blood mixed in, sore throat with mucus, lethargy, sinus headaches, and fever. i told her what i had and what they did to take care of my friend.

she looks at me says the muscle pain and bloody mucus is normal and the other stuff is a sign of a virus, come back if it continues after 2 weeks, fever continues or headaches or mucus get worse. i am going back to my normal doc today my fever went up from 99,7 to 100.5.

Actually she sounds sensible. If you're in generally good health rest and fluids is the time proven cure.

It sucks to be sick but I'd rather have a doctor that doesn't over prescribe. So many of them hand out meds like candy just to get patients in and out the door. It's creating an society of people with ever weaker immune systems while the bugs get more and more resistent to the antibiotics.

    Hope you feel better soon.

antibiotics don't do anything for viruses anyhow lots of fluids rest and a couple motrin to hide the symptoms is all you can do.

X2. Antibiotics are for bacterial infections.

And lay off the aspirin and Tylenol. Fever is the bodies way of beating infections. Take the fever away and you'll be stuck with it longer.

Try some vitamin C and Zinc. They both will help your immune system. There are some good lozengers with zinc that are orange flavored.
For vitamin C take a supplement and drink some OJ.
Also for your nose try some salin nasal spray. It is drug free and helps clear your sinuses up.
