Since when does a mini trailer rental cost so much?

 

Supply and demand I suppose? Maybe a bunch in the area you want to take it to, and not enough in your rental area??

Return location different from pickup location (ie if you don't return it from where you got it, you have to pay for it to be returned to original location. This is so they don't get too many and not enough in different locations.)

 

What is the move being done for? Assuming military, often times the managers will discount it pretty heavily for us. Check the competition and see what their prices are and take them to uhaul before booking. We've had it where uhaul matched their price and then knocked off another 10%.

 

There is no competition. U-Haul has no One-away trailer competitors...

 

Done it on their trucks. Carry on then lol...the military route tends to work sometimes as well. Or go to the next largest city and rent from them instead.

That is not how it works at all. U-Haul's fleet is constantly moving and pile ups at certain locations do happen. (IE bunch of equipment sitting in Georgia where people are moving to because the economy is thriving vs people moving out of where Op is in Florida due to jobs moving and cost of living higher.) the oneway rates are NOT factored on the equipment to be "brought back" to its orginal location.

 

Yes military discount does apply. But there is no one way trailer competition. (Only trucks)

 

Who else has trailers?

 

For oneway use, no one...

For local use, small mom and pop rental yards.
