Looks like the color balance was set to daylight which will make tungsten lights look super orange on camera...set the white balance to tungsten and it'll look more like a warm glow and not super orange

I'll probably try and play around with it again this weekend, i really dig the perspective of looking up at the trees with the stars above. I have enough pics of my truck... hahah

yeah it's hard to do fire-lit shots, balancing the light of the fire with the light of the subjects around it isn't easy

I just use the onboard 2sec time delay on my camera. Gives it just enough time to get your hand off the camera and for it to settle down. 10sec timer would work too but more waiting time.

That's the fun thing about long exposure photography, it's perfect to do while drinking lol. You can't go anywhere while the camera is running, can't move the camera...might as well sit back and get drunk!

Make sure you get a shutter release cable for your camera if you can...you don't "need" one, but pressing the shutter button on the camera during long exposures will almost always bump the camera a tad which can easily show up on the image and make it look blurry.

Yeah I just saw that in a video. They said something about the setting up the timer to avoid the shake

This was shot on a tripod. This was my first couple attempts ever at night shooting. Definitely have a lot to learn. Well have to do a wheeling/teach Brian photography trip.
That's what I did here. Learned that one from @MotoEd months back when we were camping.

That's on my list too. I want one for what Ryan said earlier for those really long exposures that require you to press on open and close. They're like 15 bucks for a decent one.
Thinking about this as well. At least for anything that the camera can time

I have wifi on mine, but you can't use it for long exposure for some reason :( I tried last night

Yaaa. I tried last night and it said nope. At least it didn't work for the "bulb" mode I think it is. Where you press to open the shutter and press to close. I'll have to try again with an actual timed setting

A few from today. Pictures weren't great but I got some beautiful drone footage that I can't wait to make an edit out of!

Tonight's long exposure, overlooking Santa Barbara. was trying to make it up to these old mansion ruins before the sun dropped but I wasn't able to so I'll be back tomorrow. On the way down the mountain I had to stop and try and capture the view. Hashtag nofilter
