So you can use the grey wire on the driver's side instead of the white, that is good to know. I too just followed what the pictures showed me, and it worked.

I also used Posi-taps instead, so it easier to tap the larger white wire

no problem! I figured i wasn't the only one. Now it's stuck in the little pocket and hopefully doesn't create rattles. lol

Well just to update, I got mine fully functional with zero dead LEDs. I have the white/amber and I went with the reverse sequential on the signals to match my headlights. As previously motioned with @MESO not having a harness for the trucks with LEDs from the factory I purchased a t-tap from @daveeasa with a tap for V5's plus a future tap for if I want to add raptor lights to grill. Honestly the biggest pain in the of the entire install was going back through the door boots on each side...if you want these and puddle pods I suggest doing them at the same time to get it all done at once to avoid doing it twice like me.

With the t-tap it was super easy, with OEM like quality. I don't know if this is true for all years, but on '20 w/ auto there is a plug to get through the firewall right near the master cylinder. I pulled it out and took it to the vise and drilled a hole with a 15/64th bit, which is just big enough that you can slide in the provided harness from Dave through with a little dish soap as lube. I did all that, went inside the cab and cut the wires to length and combined both driver and passenger mirror red's to the red from the engine bay and connected with butt connectors and did the same with white's. I then tucked everything back behind the driver kick panel so everything is hidden. I will say the wires provided by meso are pretty thin and the jacket around them is kind of a pain to strip, so it took me a bit of time to get these all even and ready for the butt connectors.

Overall I would say this is a pretty involved install to get everything to function like OEM without tapping into factory wires. I chose this method just to make it reversible should I ever want to. Looks great, MESO did another amazing job with these. Dave is super awesome and has great communication.

Below are some pictures of my install:

Nice man, you make me want to go back and re-do mine. I ordered the harness from dave but after checking things out didn't feel like dealing with running through the boots. I just tapped into the wiring in the doors. I might go back and re-do it now haha

Man it was way more involved than I wanted it to be or wanted to do this weekend. But when the pigtail on my puddle pods was too small to test the DRL function, it forced my hand. In the end I'm glad it is this way, and I went through all the extra steps. It is a lot of work for a mod we wont ever get to see and enjoy though haha

Yeah I did drls and puddles for my 15 wrx and it was the same way, running the wires through the boot but not firewall. It was all worth it at the end. The only time we will see it will be in pictures. haha It took me a little bit to do it yesterday also even though I just tapped it at the doors. Usually I always have bad luck when doing things that are suppose to be simple for the most part.

For you guys with puddles, I could definitely make an injector to re-route DRL into the ignition feed. That plus MESO magic connector would get you done without dealing with more boot BS. Hadn’t thought of that before but seems doable. I could use some independent confirmation of which color is ignition though, and which is parking light. I think per the latest, white on 4 pin puddle connector is parking light?

I’m in for one of these:D
From my understanding, if you have puddles and use MESO’s magic 2 pin connector, you lose the bright/dim functionality? I haven’t installed mine yet

I don’t believe you lose bright dim if using the puddles and magic connector. I believe you only lose stealth mode (stalk off would have mirror DRL still on as it runs off ignition)

Ahhh. Gotcha. Thanks for the clarification
    I’m in for stealth mode:D

I was going to mention this the other day when the lights started getting delivered but I felt like everyone needed some bonding time with their truck :goingcrazy:

Tip is to put the white clips on the panel then snap it into the door. Do NOT put the white clips into the holes in the door then install the sail panel. They just get pushed in & fall into the bottom of the door resulting in a fishing expedition

Haha i tried to fish them out but no luck. They got stuck in the stupid pocket. The clips were in the holes when i pulled the panel off. The passenger side i was fine.

Nice tip, thanks! I will use once my new clips arrive.
I installed my puddles pods, then the puddle switch, and then my sequential turn signals. Lost one the first install and then two on each of the next installs. At some point I must have muscled it on there, because the tabs are bent to hell on one of my covers.

Nice write-up. Very helpful. Dave is making connector harness for me as well (2021 LEDs/DRLs), although I have no puddles (wasn't quick enough when released), so likely a little less of a hassle. Like your approach to running through the boot...clean and compact.

Well damn, guess I'm unlucky. Driver's side has LED's out and passenger side causes rapid flashing.:annoyed:

    ***Edit***
    Hyper flashing fixed here.

Oh, first time I have heard of (hyper?) rapid flashing happening on the v5s. Is it only the mirror turn signals or the whole passenger side?

Not sure this is the same thing but if it is, that's 2 possible symptoms of the same/similar thing?

Could be the same thing. Just the one on your profile messages has his issue happening on both sides.

Do the V5s have a built in resistor like the V4s?
