    :notsure:

You wouldn't know tranny temp without the ultragauge so you'd just be drivin around business as usual. Truck probably wouldn't be any worse for it. I see no reason to change your driving habits just for the sake of tweaking readout numbers. As long as you aren't towing/hauling crazy loads in top gear and then coming to a dead stop repeatedly I think you should be fine.

What did the temp drop to once you were on normal roads 5 min later?

180 when I shut it off. Half an hour later when I went out it was 150.

Does anyone know the difference between HP1 and HP 2 and Torque1 and Torque 2? The '2's seem to be usually about half of the '1's.

I'm sure the manual would answer that question.

Anyone got a pic of where this thing plugs in? I have been told it is under the steering column and above the pedals. I see a lot of pics with the screen above their rear view mirrors. Also, has anyone purchased the mobile version? What are the pro/cons between the standard and the mobile versions? Thanks guys.

The plug in port is just below the fuse block. It has a dust cover on it. It is easily accessible without removing anything.

Sorry, i can't help with your other questions.

Yes. I also noticed the open loop when off the gas and coasting in drive. It goes to closed loop if in neutral.

Engineers with an EE and experience in this stuff please respond. We have no idea. Who made this confusing shit? When I could drive my truck for 200,000 miles with regular maintenance and live the happy life? Ohh, 10 years ago we did.

The guy who said enjoy your truck, stay off this forum was is a HERO!

LOL, I have it also, the 2.0 one that don't read tranny temps. All I see is MPG and drive like a girl.............. I have made it to 19.4.

Mr. Ed what mount did you use? A mount from UG or a third party? I may mount mine there too. Thanks!

Here's how I mounted mine in my ranger. Using the horizontal mount on the windshield. The windshield tint strip perfectly hides it from the outside... you can't even see it until you sit in the cab.

I have the calibration all setup so it's nice knowing my actual speed compared to the speedo since I have larger wheels and tires than what was on from the factory. I wish there was a way to hide the wire coming out of the unit, or at least modify it. I just hate seeing any wires so it bothers me that I can slight see it ...lol

Settled on this mount location for mine:

That is my main page of gauges. I have pages 2 and 3 set to have some additionals that I don't refer to as often.

Anyone think it would be possible to get the MX to show a gear indicator for an auto? I think some scan tools do it, so theoretically if we found the right code we could do it.

I think it would be neat to be able to see 4th gear unlocked vs 5th gear locked and so on.

I'm going to bump and piggy back this thread with my question.

I just bought an Ultragauge and have a question about mounting. The bracket the provide slips into what ever mount I'm going to use (horizontal or vertical, haven't decided placement yet). The purpose of that bracket is so you can connect and disconnect the display easily.

My question is: What's the point of connecting and disconnecting the display easily if the power/OBDII cable is not detachable from the unit itself?

I plan on keeping the UG always in place but in the event that I do want to remove it, I would have to fish the cable out from behind the dash and unplug it from the port. Seems stupid to have a "quick disconnect" mounting set up when you cannot quickly disconnect the cable.

    Thanks for listening.

I have another UG question, has anybody's ultragauge ever set off the abs and traction control lights? I had the frame swap done and when everything was put back together my ABS and trac lights were on. Unplugging the ultra gauge fix the issue so it was clearly something wrong with the UG. Anybody?
