Under Body Rust... What is acceptable?

    Mine has the same and I looked at anew one off the lot it has the same "rusting" area. If you look close its only on the welds and it appears to be a gold color underneath the surface rust which is probably the weld material. Take a wire brush, brush the surface rust and spray it. This isn't the only new vehicle that has this look around.

    I posted this in another thread:

    I'm curious if anyone here has tried Waxoyl ? Coming from a Defender 90, which are destined to be rust buckets if not treated, this is the number one product most owners use.

    No affiliation but Rovers North carries it here in the US. The company says one application for the life of the vehicle. They have one product that is used for cavities, and I'm guessing it would be the ticket for the frame cavities.
