Cool thanks for the heads up and excuse this dumb question.

Im guessing by washing it once a week getting the salt out from under it and off of it helps a lot because salt speeds up the process?

Ill wash it once a week at the car wash, anything to keep my baby going!

Is anyone else this crazy about their coma? Or am I alone on trying to keep her nice to last 20+ years

What I did on my previous car that had a rust inside the door, on the area where there's a rubber contact. Small rocks and debris infiltrated between the door (metal) and rubber and with vibrations, paint was gone and rust was advanced.

I brushed all loose paint and a little over. I also brushed directly on the rust to remove all small loose metal parts.

Then, I applied a solvent (brake cleaner or anything like that) on the area.

Finally applied a POR15 directly on it. Three coats.

Rust stopped spreading and I don't have a hole on the other side (exterior). That was 4 years ago and now, my brother still owns it and no rust. Paint still there.

When POR15 is dry, there's a rubber feeling, and it's thick. It's not like an anti-rust paint that you can find in any home hardware store.

Take note that I live where there's salt everywhere 6 months each year ;)

Depending on how thorough the detail is, I would do it before its detailed. A clay bar will remove any overspray you accidentally get on the truck.

O ok sounds good then, yes they are supposed to be doing a FULL detail because it was only washed before I got it, so its supposed to get waxed and everything.
