    Truth....but if I had to choose (since I'm not made of money) I would indeed cross shop the two setups. Ideally I'd have both !:D

    the hole setup cost 400.00 for mount already powder-coated black and the winch was 250.00 so all in all was still cheaper than an after-market plate bumper and the wait of 3 to 4 months to get it plus paying to get it powder-coated and then another 300.00 for winch so 650.00 or 1200.00 this way was easier and still kept the factory look of the truck.

    take the cover off of the soleniod and you will see the factory gasket does not completly seal the soleniod put rtv sealent on that and around all the wire openings......or the soleniod will corroud and not work then your shit of of luck
    their is a write up on this....ill try n find it

    hope that helps you.......
    i have had mine for over 2 years now and used it a bunch of times....
    make sure u have a snatch block as well as some tree savers......
    dont under estimate a snatch block it will save u.........

    I remember seeing that write-up. My issue would be where to stick the damn license plate & would it still allow me to use my lightbar? Seems as it would unless the winch line was running way uphill. Wish I would've seen this before spending my tax return allowance on other things, lol. Lightbar pic........

    yea you should be able to use that light bar it looks like it would have enough clearence from the winch mount

    is that write up from the 1st model of xrc8 or the new version of it the seleniod look different then mine but could be couse the plastic covers off
