I'm looking at doing something similar with some USCC L-track in the same spot. Looking to mount a rack and RTT, is there any solution for reinforcing that area to hold more weight or do I need to rethink how I should mount the rack?

It mounts to a very thin piece of metal. I ended up making a bed rack out of angle iron which rests on top of the bed.

I was thinking about securing a piece of unistrut along the length of the bed underneath the rail.

Yes I did. I used to re-enforce the bed rails before I put my hard cover on. Had to trim some of unistrut backside to fit the bed side wallsupload_2025-4-3_18-2-30.jpg

Thanks for responding! How did you attach to under the rail?

It fit pretty tight. I drilled and put bolts through the inside lip of the bed into the unistrut. I did not bolt through the top because I put a hard cover on.
