Gen 3 owner. Gotta say this engine/trans combo is not my favorite. It’s an auto. Off-road/towing is impressive, but I have to try not to redline it when merging onto the highway every time. Disclaimer: Hardly my first 4wd truck. Yeah, I test drove it.
Would I notice a substantial acceleration improvement with an OV tune, or would I be better served trading it for a tundra?

Stop trying not to redline it is my advice. It loves revving to 6200rpms! But there is a tune with OVTune that let’s you go up to 7K. That would be awesome.

OP your question asks in part - “would I be better served trading it for a tundra”. Your side bar shows you have a 2020 Tundra. What exactly are you asking?

Toyota called yesterday asking to buy my taco. Hence my post. According to the dealer they had to retool the taco plant to make cars... blah blah... and have no tacos on the lot with a high demand. I told them I’d be interested if they could get me into a tundra for the same payment and they did. The OV tune info definitely helped with that decision.
