Best I remember, the 5th Gen Camaro had the same problem with side curtain bags deploying without an impact or rollover. Most of them were caused by the accellerometers sensing too much g-force when people were drifting and cutting up.....yeah........... Hate it happened to you, and glad you or someone else weren't injured when it deployed, but I doubt it's a design flaw that Toyota will help with. Sorry.....

Interested to hear the outcome. I rally the piss out of my work truck off-road responding to emergency medicals and haven't had this issue.

$3000-$4000 repair on a truck worth $20,000+? I would not expect the insurance co. to total it.
By federal law you own the EDR data from your vehicle. Ask them straight up what the EDR data review showed.

But good to know about the EDR. I will be on their heels until they fill me in.

When you say you hit a "bump" on the side of the road at speed....did you mean a CURB? Meaning, you hit a curb at nearly 20mph?

    You said 30km hr....

Our advise prob won't help you if your in another country...

I saw this happen to a guy on the freeway here in California, it was soo funny...

He got all road raged out over the traffic and drove up an embankment on the side to take cuts and they blew up on his way down....

No. Aside from the liner and seatbelts being frozen everything's been alright.

Sounds like you need to reevaluate your insurance company.

You never mentioned that the seat belts were froze. That takes a signal from the impact sensors to trigger belt retraction/lock. Are both front seat belts froze up?

Did you have a passenger in the truck? The SRS ECU knows if there is a passenger by having the seat sensor triggered. If no one is sitting in the passenger seat, the bag and seat belts do not go off.

I find it odd that your insurance company will even let you drive the truck. They know the curtain bag and set belts are non functional. Seems like a huge liability to let you deal with it on your own.

The odd things you have reported makes me think the SRS ECU is fucked. Hopefully when all is fixed that is changed as well.
