What is more accurate for distance, truck odometer or scangauge II after up-sizing tires from 245/75/16 to 265/75/16?

    Thanks

stock size will be accurate for odometer.

Typically most vehicles will be spot on with their odo and their stick tire size, and a little over on the spedometer. 265/75R16's will usually put the speedo spot on but will make the odo read 3.4% low.

ScanGauge can be adjusted to make its odometer correct. Brand new Michelin LTX MS2 in oem P245/75-16 went from about 1% odometer error for well-worn dunlops to 2% (truck odometer reads 98 miles for 100 actual traveled). Truck speedometer reads about 3 mph higher than actual.
Bottom line, including changing to the 265/75's - you can adjust the ScanGauge for either speedometer or odometer error, but the other will have some error, and the error will change over time as tires wear.

I went from like 265/70r16 to 265/75r16 and after i used GPS to check speed and it was spot on with 265/75r16.

    Have you checked your odometer?

As stated by nd4spbh above, if the 265's made your speedometer correct, you probably NOW have some odometer error. It appears that the Toyota design has speedometer and odometer calculations done independently of each other.

Checked with GPS and Scangauge is reading correctly and truck odometer is off.

Mine has LT265/75R16s. The odometer is within 1/10 mile in about 10 miles, judging from mile markers on the road, as I recall. The speedometer agrees within 1 mph with the radar displays in some of the towns around here. Plenty accurate for me.

Since a scangauge (OBD) will be reading the same data source as your odometer, I would have to say that they will be PRECISELY as accurate as each other.

ScanGauge is adjustable - test it with mile markers (50 miles) or GPS, then dial in correction % into the scangauge. Properly set up, the ScanGauge is definitely more accurate. This can also be used to adjust SG over time as tires wear.

Done, as I posted above. Checked with GPS, I had already adjusted Scangauge for speed. Now scangauge is dead on with GPS odometer and speed

I have stock 245/75/r16. How was everyone's tire upgrade to 265? Any changes you noticed? Milage or drive problem or have to trim at all. I have a 2009 sr5 bone stock. I would like to upgrade to 265 soon!

They fit fine on mine. The 4-banger seems top run better if I shift at slightly higher speeds than before. I find it best to stay out of fifth gear below 45 mph. Gas mileage seems to be a bit less, tho that is probably because of the effect of the larger diameter tires on the odometer reading.
