Even if he’s not a LEO what’s the big deal helping him get more info of a vehicle on surveillance footage?

We don't have the Prerunner model in Canada. 17" Wheels, hood scoop, stickers make it the TRD Sport variant, with a 4.0L engine. That model is probably the most common here in Canada out of all the variants, and that detail won't show in the registration, except for 3 digits out of the 17 digits in a VIN code, and the first 5 digits in the VIN would be common as well.

"Patil would not get into details of the investigation except to say that detectives had managed to narrow down the list of Tacomas."

Does this mean we're all members of the RCMP now?

Anywho...glad to have an update and know that they're making progress in the case with someone in custody. Maybe we played a small part in that.

if he is/was a member - probably wont ever show himself since at this point forward. I can't imagine anyone here being friendly towards him after being marked with a hit and run,

Received this email from the Toronto Police for all of you from @TPS87495:

As one of your members updated in the thread we were able to make an arrest in this case.. I would like to thank all those involved. I can't seem to log back in to add to the post. The information provided on this website assisted us in narrowing down the make model and features of the suspect vehicle. This saved a huge amount of time and effort.
Thanks again to the members and the admin of this site for all the help.
