    Hello community,

I recently purchased a used ps pump from a place that sells parts off wrecked vehicles. With oem ps pump discontinued, I couldn’t pull the trigger in aftermarket. I figured I’d roll the dice on junkyard option. The pulley attached is def oem since it has the part number etched but I am not sure about the rest. Can others, esp. those with more experience, chime
in and see if this looks oem or remanufactured, or typical low-tier aftermarket? Thnks in advance.

    Thanks.

Sucks that oem has been discontinued at all places I called. At any rate, I wonder if oem rebuild kits are available — Might go with that option.

Looks like they sold you a typical reman for some reason instead of a true used pump

Strange but not that surprising. I'll bet oem pumps just arent lying around anymore. They've all been gobbled up by resellers and reman companies

Really appreciate this. Unfortunately, it appears that oem rebuild kit has been discontinued. I'll keep searching.

I'd like to remove all Chinese parts and replace with oem to hopefully have an oem unit with oem pieces again. Could you point to which pieces I should replace?

the issue is, it rebuilt (orings/seals/etc) are Chinese parts. It’s not worth it. Many before you had ran aftermarket reman and has been fine

What others wrote. Like any other brand of vehicle that is over 20 years, parts are obsolete, no more OEM. You have no choice, go aftermarket.

    Update:

PS pump replaced. Now, what could possibly have caused this carnage on the pump that was removed? Looks like someone overtighten the pulley bolt? Input welcome.

Background: This is a rebuilt engine that I did not touch until recently when I took it to a mechanic to have harmonic balancer replaced — on that one, the install was def done incorrectly (more on that in the future). The PS pump placed on my rebuilt engine was def not the same one I had on the original engine.
