Edit: You were correct, and up to date.

Toyota did change the headunit in 2020 to support AA and CP.

TRD emblems, tinted windows, OEM running boards, AVS vent shades, RMAS upgrade, LED lights in front and rear, interior LED lighting upgrade, LED lighting in bed, touch control dash mount for LED lighting, auxillary 12v and USB jacks in bed, replace all speakers with Infinity, custom mod with Bose tweeters, TRD Pro illumination mod...

Your not wrong. My 2017 Forte5 SX has a higher resolution screen with better colour, I can save mp3 files locally and the NAV is much like a Garmin GPS unit.

I’m 2017 also. It’s junk. Entune app is no longer functioning and the upgraded Toyota app to replace it doesn’t work with my so called premium head unit. I called their support and they said they made the change to have one app for all the head units to make it easier…….unless it doesn’t work with your model.

If you don't expect much from it, it's decent. It plays my entire music collection. That's about all i ask of it and it generally does it without issue.

That's how I feel. I thought I'd use AA... I don't. I get in and listen to my music, that's it.

I attempted to update the HU in my 2017 OR and it did not see any of the files on the USB. Thoughts?

USB no bigger than 16GB (maybe 32GB?) FAT/FAT32 formatted, put files in root directory NO SUBDIRECTORY, everything s/b just fine. I'm guessing the USB format was wrong or too big or didn't put files in root.

The Toyota link requests the VIN but never offers a download option, for my 2016.

So I downloaded the software from the OP link, and easily updated my 2016, with no issues.

This is a huge load of horseshit. I just can't update my HU to 010A4
Same with my 2017 OR. I spent two days trying to update. NAV micros card in and out. Disconnected battery. It’s frustrating!

You try starting the truck then waiting a few minutes before plugging in and attempting the update?

Have you tried only having the file needed on the thumb drive, rather than throwing all files in there?

Yes I did that too and it made no difference.
Today I bought cheap 16gb usb flash memory stick and voilà the hu immediately recognized the file and update was done in 10 minutes.
So IMO the hu can’t recognize anything bigger than 16gb.
Thank you for all the help!

    Lucky you.
I used an 8Gb and no reading of anything.

You may be correct. I tested my headunit with a 32GB and that was fine, but it's the new, updated headunit. Likely 2016-2019 cannot.

Verify the format of your thumb drive and what version is currently loaded onto your headunit.

The owner's manual should have the specs for the head unit. If you have a Windows machine it won't let you format drives larger than 32gb in a FAT format. It defaults to NTFS and these head units can't read NTFS. You can use freeware that will format larger drives in FAT16/FAT32. This allowed my 2020 OEM head unit and another head unit to read larger drivers by formatting in FAT32. Neither would read NTFS.

There is a TSB that instructs everyone how to do it and what format to use. The first post states what is required from that TSB, rather than attaching it as well.

Updated my 2016 Entune Premium system today. Piece of cake. Thanks for sharing the downloads...the Toyota download center wasn't giving me the latest version
