My wife's Subaru is a click more advanced in this regard, and it's a 2019.
I have no idea what the newer models can do. :frusty:

I know you can purchase one of these ScanGaugeII devices from Amazon https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000AAMY86?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

But, Toyota is pulling a lot of information from the truck it doesn't allow me to see easily, but could. It's tabulating things like hard accelerations, hard cornering, hard braking (essentially accelerometer data), fuel level, door lock status, miles driven, vehicle GPS position, and serving that all up on the Toyota smart phone-application.

Agreed, it would be likely easy for them to do.

It only ratchets backwards when it comes to features, like when they removed the Pandora app.

Yeah! I was simply shocked when they added Alexa. Although, I have never used any voice assistants. It looked cool on Star Trek. I guess it didn't translated into real life for me?

I forgot about Alexa being added, it never works for me - just a red pulsing bar across the bottom of the screen, then nothing. I've told her how I feel, but she still ignores me.

Thanks, @ktbell444, I may take you up on that. My wife drives the van, and currently she and it are out of state. Then we plan to go camping for a couple of weeks, so there is not much time right now for me to mess things up further.
I'll check back when things are a little more stable time-wise.
Thanks again for all of your efforts and time.

No problem! I should get an email if/when you send me a message so hopefully I won't miss it. Enjoy the camping trip!

I use Android Auto and the Google Assistant is excellent. I think if you are connected via BT with a smartphone, the assistant on your phone, Android or Apple should be pulled up when you use the voice command button on the steering wheel. No need to be using Android Auto or Apple CarPlay.

FWIW, A random piece of information, I believe there is a means via Google to translate on the fly spoken English into another spoken language, and am told it works well.

Yes. I am aware of that. It is just that I do not like talking to a non-human interface. It's just me.

Yes. The translate apps are great.

    New problem.

So i have 2016 Sport with nav and have installed 4 or 5 updates over the years, all good except maybe the last one.

I did a 60K maintenance last week and reset some of the info on the maintenance screen, (oil, filter, dif, ujoints.ext) and have notice that all the mileage countdown till the next change is , well not changing.
even in ones not reset? :annoyed:

So I'm asking if other people that have a older truck 2016 - 2017 with nav. Is all your shit working now?

have reset 3 tabes to recheck and still no change in the last 10 miles?

Is this a ME only problem ?
( now if only the odometer did that my truck would never depreciate)

Just curious so forgive the inquiry - are you using a special piece of software and hardware to do the reset of these tables?
Random thought - perhaps after resetting the tables, you need to power cycle the vehicle by disconnecting and reconnecting the battery.

I'm not seeing this exact issue mentioned in the TSB, but maybe the latest here would fix it?

Ah. Yeah, there's no way to force a reinstall as far as I'm aware. If resetting hasn't helped, the only other thing I could think of is possibly disconnecting the battery as a last-ditch effort.

Disconnecting both terminals and touching them together can be more effective.

    True.
Most of the time I do a disconnect, it tends to take me a while before I'm ready to reconnect. Lol. Something breaks, I can't find a 10mm, etc. I do tend to overlook "touching the tips".
