My 2020 OR didnt come with navigation. Can I just add a card or am I stuck using Siri or Google Maps when off grid?

I guess its Siri in town and Google Maps when I’m traversing the innards of Baja with no cell signal for hours at a time. Thanks.

Apple Maps and Google Maps both have offline download capabilities now for some peace of mind. I've had Google Maps not work properly off-grid though with my iPhone. Apple Maps has been pretty decent so far and works on the head unit via CarPlay. I keep my entire state downloaded.

If you want a dedicated offroading app with offline support as well as CarPlay support you can look into OnX, but it isn't free like AM or GM.

Toyota navigation sucks so bad. Stick with Google maps. The only time I would ever want to use it would be in a scenario where I don't know where I'm going and for some reason, I don't have a phone.

Welp, unfortunately the new SD card only fixed my issue for a few days. Radio cycling off and on every 30 seconds or so again. And no FM/AM.

Any recommendations for the best aftermarket head units?
