UPDATED:am i the only one with this issue? media system restarting without reason

This just happened to me this morning. It was raining heavy and I was listening to a podcast through the Bluetooth.

I just had my 5K done so I was worried that the knocked a cable or there is some type of moisture issue.

 

Funny, I was driving in the rain as well

 

There is another thread talking about the weather app causes it because it is trying to push the data. If you set you HD settings to HD only not HD and internet it will stop.

T-SB-0103-16 should resolve it. I do it to dozens of vehicles a week.

It's likely due to incorrectly written code for displaying a rain icon on the weather app. The software update for the radio corrects it. It gets done via the USB port.

Not the entune update that goes over Bluetooth occasionally.
Update released October 14th.

 

Please tell me there is a way to do this ourselves... I'm really hoping to NOT have to go back to the dealership.

Yes it was raining. It's been doing nothing but raining here in Georgia. PTL, we need the rain.

 

Yeah, we need the rain desperately. Mine just started this crap tonight. I just got my truck back from 22 days at the dealer too... Not happy.

 

Just ran the TSB (from home...Murrayb4 Rocks!)

Radio is still working..so that is a plus

In GA as well. Just passed having the truck a year and this started today. Driven in rain plenty of times previously, no idea why it started now

mine is crashing all the time it even failed to connect to my phone, I shut the phone off (usually fixes it) but still failed to connect had to pull off the road and shut the truck off for it to work, then 2 days later it crashed 3 times in a row and today it crashed 4 times in a row before it started working.....going to bitch to Toyota tomorrow and have them fix it

 

Can the update be done yourself. It looks like a .kwi file is needed to perform as per the TSB

This is driving me nuts. Happens when it pours on rain. Atleast that is when I notice it. Today it just kept restarting over and over again I wasn't doing anything other then listening to espn radio....
