I've read I probably shouldn't need to on a 2016 for proper alignment, but I'm curious if there would be any realized improvement in doing so as part of my project? I'm currently not much into off-road and mainly looking for improved ride and some light trails camping/hunting. I've already got the Icon's and AAL ready to go.

No...The main purpose of the UCA is to fix the lower caster issue that happens when you lift your truck. The factory cams run out of adjustment ability to fix both the Camber and Caster. At 1.5", you will be fine. Anything over 3", yes.

So an aftermarket UCA either by design or adjustability, will fix the low caster and bring your alignment back into factory spec. The plus side is that they are made alot stronger than stock and allow for some additional droop in the suspension.

Nope, not unless you plan on getting extended travel shocks, bigger tires, and need more caster to help with tire rub from the larger tires. If you have the Icon kit with extended shocks, you want to use them or you wasted money on the shocks, standard travel shocks, you wasted money on the UCA unless you like a lot of squeaking.
