Has anyone upgraded their battery? If so, how many cold cranking amps did you go with? What brand did you use? I'm trying to see what size will fit in the stock tray.

I've hear good things about the top of the line Die Hards. Supposedly they are almost identical to the Odyssey batteries...the major difference between the two is the cost.

i'm sticking with the factory battery. if you have the tow package or bed outlet, you already have a great battery 710CCA w/165 min. reserve. my tacoma's battery is easily 1/3 bigger than most i see in full size V-8's.

    if it helps...it's a group 27F.

I do not have the outlet in the bed. I have a SR5 with a TSS package. That did not include the bed outlet, although I think I want to install one.

I've had an Optima Red Top before, worked like a charm with a 1000watt stereo. Ran the same battery in two different vehicles before it finally died after sitting for 2 years. 4 years of life out of it no problem, hard usage too. I've read a bit about them though and they're hit or miss. Some people have gotten duds. If you buy them from a place like costco though, they'll just give you a brand new one, no questions asked. After mine went dead at 4 years, they didn't even ask for a reciept. gave me a new one.

    Krookz,

Where do you suggest I install the outlet in the cab? Any pics?
