I am running a rough country 3" spacer kit right now and I want to upgrade without spending a fortune. Any thoughts on ways to go? 2010 4x4 4.0 access cab.

The usual suspects - Billie 5100's or OME shocks and the appropriate coils.

I'm not even sure anymore lol. I used to drop a couple grand without hesitation. But I'm getting old so I'd like to spend as little as I have too. Around 700.00 or 800.00 I'd be ok with.

I'd second bilstein 5100s with good springs. Are you installing them yourself?

    Bilstein 6112!

But that'll blow most of your $700

Check out headstrong or allpro off road websites. Or toytec or Amazon or the list under venders on this forum.

I'm partial to Allpro. If you buy a kit they usually include all the things you'll need.

Usually if you call them they'll help you find exactly what you need/want.

Thanks I think if I went that way I could avoid UCA's and leave the block in the in the back. Thanks.

With the 6112 how does the settings work? Typically with the 5100 the spring provid the lift and you set them at 0. Do you need to set them at 5 for 2.5"?

They're adjustable but only up to 2.5"

Might not be enough for you, coming from 3".

@DC2010 any lift setup over about 2.25" is going to run into a Low Caster situation. UCAs are not required, but will allow you to bring the alignment numbers back into spec.

The 6112s come with their own coils due to the shocks being so large in diameter. Otherwise yes they work just like the 5100s as far as lifting goes. You choose a setting during the assembly process for the desired lift height.

    Dan,

I'm not sure the RC is a true 3" of lift. I'm beginning to think the Billie will give me actuallly more space. Maybe I'm wrong.

And thanks for the 6112 information.

You would be very happy with the 6112s. I have them and have been impressed with their performance on and off road. If you were only going to replace the front shocks then I would suggest you give them a look. If you wanted to replace all four, I would look at the 5100s all the way around due to the budget

Thanks. I'm thinking the 5100's. Maybe with 887 springs. I am trying to figure out if UCA's are a must.

I went with the 5100's and 2887 springs From Head Strong.

I also ended up pulling the trigger on JBA UCA's after reading all the post on alighnment issues. Now I hope my 2" block will be enough after I do the springs and shocks.

That block in the back is going to ruin your springs!! At the very least, do an Add A Leaf!!!!
