    Inside the image modal window it would be cool to have the choice between simply inserting the image at the url and uploading the image from the url. It could help prevent broken links to third party hosting over time if Imgur or other CDNs ever go the way of Photobucket.

    Here are a few of the dozen or so sites we auto attach hot linked pics from (similar to what you're saying, but automatic so it's not left up to the user): googleusercontent.com, i.ibb.co, imageshack.*

    Your suggestion about imgur is a good one. We can get it added to the auto attach list.

    Sweet! someone mentioned the image insertion automatically uploading images but I hadn't noticed it myself to figure out it was CDN based.

    Could i.redd.it make the list too? :D
