Update: The crow’s foot wrench kept slipping off so I ended up using a torque adapter which made it REALLY easy!

Would the torque settings for the upper control Arm nut/bolt still be 85 ft lb for a 3rd gen 4x4?

Old thread but need some help. I was greasing up my control arm bushings and when I went to re-tighten the bolt, one of my bushings started to deform. Has anyone had this issue?

the photo shown is my bolt tightened not to spec but tight enough that it’s not loose. Unfortunately I didn’t take a photo when it was tightened to spec. But when it was tight, it was way more deformed and seemed to be way out of aligned of how it should be. Hopefully y’all can help.

for reference, the UCA are tubular from icon vehicle dynamics.

We have the same arms. Mine would do that if I tried to pack too much grease in

The bushings are a nice snug fit, they're designed to trap the grease inside as much as possible. So if you put too much in it's going to try to come out somewhere and it ends up pushing the bushing out
