I have had the bravo rack for a few years now, but never liked the original baja fairing and light bar mount. Picked up a new universal, diode dynamics 42in light bar and some prinsu light bar mounts.
The fit is very tight and the light bar mounts are actually touching the fairing. There was just enough room for me to force the light bar into place. This combo is simply amazing. The output of the DD is great, there is no extra wind noise difference between this setup and the original.

Anyone have any pics showing how you ran your scenepod wiring harnesses? Looking for some inspiration & ideas. I have an alpha cab rack and an alpha ex truss topper rack (2 sets of 4 scenepods)

 

Made my own wiring harness when I did mine. The feed is coming up on the passenger side of the windshield. Used 3M tie wrap tie downs to keep the wire in place along the rack. To get to teh other side of the rack I feed the wiring in the channel of the rack bar and use cover from 80/10 to cover up the wire.

Lights are wired to a constant fee from my fuse block. Switch is in the upper console switch panel, for now.

 

It's not normal and was offered a replacement.

 

What gauge wire did you go with for your harness? I'm thinking 16AWG, but wonder if that's overkill (I will be installing lights in the bed rack as well).

 

I'm using 18 ga GXL for scenepods... but I also ended up getting like 900' to stock up.
I just have to finish making the string of lights for the front rack. Back rack is complete.

 

I did find that there is like 3mm of interference between the octagon cutouts and the scenepods themselves, so I'll have to take the dremel to all of them to shave down to fit.
Idk if scenepod 2.0 has different dims than the original, or the octagon cutouts got slightly smaller... Its definitely more than just paint thickness.

 

yep 16 gauge wire. The I did shrink wrap tubing around it.

 

Uptop or anyone? What's the load capacity for the bed rack armor or panels?

 

Not sure of the official capacity, but I'm 190 and routinely stand on mine to load gear (rifle cases, waterport, etc.) with no noticeable sagging or problems.

 

According to the Instructions I got with mine:

WEIGHT CAPACITY RESTRICTIONS
Dynamic Weight: 300 Lb. / 136 kg
Static Weight: 1100 Lb. / 498 kg

 

Has anyone with a Bravo rack mounted a snorkel. Maybe like the Air Raid or Dobinsons?

how sturdy are these handles? looks like they are plastic.

 

Aluminum .. I can stand on my sliders and pull up on them.. don't budge..

 

So I got a new Tundra and am prototyping their new Zulu rack. They haven’t given me intel on pricing or availability yet but I believe they have a Taco one floating around somewhere.

That said, I am selling a mid-height Truss for 2005-2022 Tacoma if anyone is interested. Asking $500 in Denver area.

Thanks. Trying to see if they have more than one purpose. Do you think they'd be strong enough to hold a hammock (say you had two tacoma lined up want wanted to attach a few on either side, front/back like the pix)



Might seem like a stupid questions since the bars on the roof rack are probably a better attachment point but I feel like the handles would be lot cleaner and more useful especially if the roof rack is fully loaded. Or is the sole purpose of the handles simply to lift yourself up to the roof rack?
