It was tested on the dyno and was more restrictive on the intake than the stock and thus discontinued. There are few threads on it.

Strange timing for sure, but just for clarification, they're still available for purchase on their site. Idk if there always was, but there's a disclaimer its for NA engines only (no turbo/supercharger). I can't remember for certain, but the dyno tests that were made public may have been in a supercharged application, but speculation always pointed towards it being less than ideal for stock applications, and upTop never made any efforts to show any dyno data from what I remember. I seem to remember talk of enlarging the tube diameter, but highly doubtful they put that much cheddar into it all.

I’m pretty sure it’s all just stock they have on hand from the initial production but I could be wrong. Thanks for the clarification. It’s been awhile since I read the threads.

I have their snorkel and it still works fine for me. No, I don't have a turbo, supercharger, pro charger, re-gear or aftermarket cold air intake. But my truck still climb incline mountains roads, plows through water crossings and drives just fine as my daily commuter. If you take the metal grate off at the top front of snorkel head you'll get more air coming in.

Had to make an appearance one last time. It's because they fired the good people and there is a single owner now who burned every bridge and will most likely drive the company into the ground. Take what you want from this statement but beware.

    Source, left uptop in 2022.

Yesterday I had received Uptop eyelet brackets and now they're mounted to the Alpha rack. They still have products that are useful. Still rockin' their products.

No doubt, I love my Alpha roof and bed racks and my customer support experience with UpTop—albeit back in 2022—was exceptional.

You probably worked with Drew. He has since left and now collaborates with Grant, another former employee, on full-size trucks.

For high-quality products, check out Godz Manufacturing. Have to plug them as they are great guys!

Of note, I do not work in the industry at all anymore.

There is a lot more to the story. Just not my place to put it out on the internet.

Overall nothing against their products, I still have an alpha on my Tacoma.

Yup, Drew was fantastic answering my questions and later helping me connect with Micah when the "new" mounts for my eX cap did not bring it level with the roof rack. They both went above and beyond fabricating new mounts. I'll check out Godz, thanks for the info.

Well this is shit. Considering I got my Alpha around 2021… and just discovered it’s effing broken.

Both driver and passenger in the same spot.
Can’t get an answer via the website or email.

Considering its the same spot both sides, and where its located, I'd have to assume you had some ratchet strapped there at some point? Not saying thats what happened, just trying to make it make sense. Either way, I wouldn't expect the rack to crack under any "normal" tied down load. I can't imagine you or anyone else would ratchet it to a breaking point; I'd expect any logical person would stop ratcheting once it started to bend. Maybe ratcheting a load there revealed an already cracked weak point?

    No… Wish I did..

Never ratchet strapped anything there, hammock hooked up once to the handles on the side but that was up further.
Now I do have my spare tire in the middle of the rack, and I had a high lift jack across the back… but could a high lift just sitting there actually do this?

I only call them... During the week they answer phone calls pretty well. Do you ever lift up on your rack in that area? I mean I'm trying to play devil's advocate a little bit because I'm not sure if they would warranty that since it's in the same spot on both sides.. but I have little faith in people. Anyway, How far back is this compared to where the tire and hi-lift are located? I used to have an alpha and upgraded to the Zulu. I would be curious to see the angles of everything. If weight could have forced the sides inward and that was a stress point or if it was damaged in shipping hairline fracture not noticeable and with time and vibrations broke
