Let us know how the 7th works out for ya, I'm in the same boat needing to get one soon. I'm one of the unlucky ones with major ping issues esp. in the high gear/low rpm range.

I find that strange how the ping effects other engines. My truck is 166k miles just put the S/C and I get no ping. We do have 93 octane in Texas and I'm at sea level so that might be the diff. I also went with the ik22 plug.

I'm pretty close to sea level myself, the ping was a lot worse before I upgraded my plugs but I only went with ik20. The ping went away almost completely after I got those on but within 5k miles it's back again now, think I need to step the plugs up to ik22 (and get the 7th injector eventually).

It is strange how it affects some motors worse than others, and then others still seem to never get the ping at all. Guess I'm just one of the unlucky ones lol

My fuel mileage seems pretty bad though. I'm only getting like 13. I'm more than likely gonna step down to a 33" tire and not a load range E. Still undecided on what gear to go with. I think I'll gain a little back if I regear. I was only getting about 16-17 to begin with so with a lift, Sc, 20x12 wheels and 34" tires I guess only 3mpg loss isn't to bad.

That sounds low but about right given the size/rating of the tires and being supercharged. If I'm easy on it, I can get 20mpg highway (18 average) with my truck, supercharged with E rated 31s (stock size)

The one way check valve is no longer avaialable through Toyota. Does anyone know of anything else that works. Maybe magnuson sells them. I was just going to grab a generic check valve but I didn't know if it was pressure regulated or not.

Everything except the T to the 7th. I'm gonna buy a new fuel pump though. If I'm gonna go through the trouble I'm gonna put a new one.

Hello tw I have been reading this thread and am a little confused and need your help. I'm looking to getting more power out of a 2003 v6 supercharged(black edition) with 7th injector. I'm looking into either the 2.1 or 2.2 pulley but what else is needed with modification? Fuel pump? Bigger injectors? Tuning? Thanks for your help guys

You shouldn't need bigger injectors if you're running the 7th injector kit. There are no tuners for our trucks, at least not any that are worth a damn.

The fuel pump upgrade through URD is recommended if you go with the smaller pulley though

Which fuel pump would you recommend for a 2.1 pulley?

Depending on your wrenching abilities and enthusiasm there are several options to make more power. The easiest would be the 7th, followed by methanol injection and the most difficult would be larger injectors with a piggy back tuner such as the AEM fic 6. They rank in that order in terms of performance as well IMO.

The 7th kit is a complete package and will include everything needed to run the 2.2" pulley. At sea level you'll run into a bit more trouble with a 2.1" pulley and I wouldn't recommend it for a DD. You will have to tune it in most cases but sometimes the baseline tune the kit ships with is effective enough.

Again, it all boils down to how much time/$$ you want to dish. Good Luck!
