Funny how it's the people that don't need an oil analysis get one, but those that need one, don't get it

2014 Tacoma 4.0 w/ supercharger. Used mobile 1 adv full synthetic 5w-30. 3,946 miles on this change. Sodium seems high but I guess I shouldn't worry about it yet.

Blackstone is correct. If the last fill was an oil that used Sodium as an additive (Valvoline is one - but there are many others), it takes several changes with an oil not using Sodium for the Sodium levels to drop to or close to zero.

If this was an internal coolant leak, I would also expect to see Potassium high too, but it is not. So what oil did you use prior to this fill?

That makes me feel better, thank you for that information. I am not sure what oil was used prior. I purchased the truck at 47,500 miles and I had my dad look up the service history. It was always changed at the dealer on time. Then at ~50,000 miles when the supercharger was installed the dealership changed the oil. Not too sure what they use. I was pretty rough on the truck in those almost 4,000 miles so I'm not really worried about it looking like oil that has 5,800 miles. Good amount of idling done too.

I have requested a sample kit from Blackstone twice over a month or two ago how long do these kits usually take to show up

I ran out of kits before my last oil change so I emailed them to request one. It showed up in about a week.

Edit: Are you using the link on their site that's specifically for requesting a kit?

Now is a good time to buy the Wix Oil Analysis kit at Amazon, # 24077; they are $12.53, the lowest I've seen them. I got them before for $18. Their analysis includes a TBN test which is extra in the Blackstone kit.

After viewing dozens of these reports by blackstone (the leader in their field) in which they recommend change intervals of 7500-10K, it blows my mind that there are still people that change their oil every 3500 miles.

Pennzoil platinum 5w30, first oil change was with an OEM filter, second was with a Bosch filter. The oil was run in temps ranging from -58° to +95°, including a good amount of winter idling to warm the engine up before driving.

Fluid was flushed at ~50k, this fluid was sampled when I had my valvebody upgraded. Used Toyota WS ATF both times for the refill.

Not the report I was hoping to see. I do have a lot of idle time and tons of short trips on this oil run. Being my first report, I'm not going to worry about it yet. We'll see what my next one says.

My 06 w/ 175k got an aluminum reading of 6 too w/ a 4800mi run. They said it was just nit-picking and nothing to worry about. My Iron only read 8 though, so maybe it was the combination of the two that caused them initial concern.
