I was wondering if I can use the Zymol cleaner wax first, then apply Meguiars Ultimate liquid wax. Will there be any issues with this combination? Thanks!

The Ultimate is a sealer, not a wax, so you need to lay it before a wax BUT a cleaner wax has compound in it so youd just buff off the sealer you put on. If you use Ultimate after the wax it will not adhere and would be useless.

If you need to paint correct do so by machine first, then lay a sealer, then lay a plain wax.

I'm confused...it is "Ultimate Liquid Wax"...why is it considered a sealer and not a wax?

It is a incorrectly named product. Mequires likely calls it that because sealers are sometimes referred to as "synthetic waxes". But they are not chemically a wax.

And just an aside, sealers are used more because they last substantially longer than waxes. A sealer depending on the the type and how you care for it will last 6-12 months. A wax lasts at most 6 weeks. So question is why not apply a sealer? Far less work and maintinence. Waxes are used more for color/looks now a days. So just reapply a wax every few weeks for a nice shine on your MGM truck rather than spend a lot of time trying to do multiple coats of wax every 6 weeks.

So can I wax with Zymol to clean the paint and then use the Meguiars wax in a few weeks when the wax has deteriorated a bit?

Here's an excerpt from the Meguiar's forum:

"The difference between a wax and a paint sealant
The difference or the distinction between what is a wax and what is a paint sealant, (according to forum consensus), is that a "Car Wax" contains some type of natural waxy type substance. A paint sealant contains no natural wax but instead is made from man-made or synthetic materials with the catch-all term of polymers being the most common word used to describe what's in the can or bottle. There are currently no "Wax Police" so companies can pretty much use any word or term they choose to label their products."

You can but is not best method. When using a sealer it needs to be applied to bare paint.
