It’s actually a lot of stuff.

    You get

    intermittent wipers
    Auto dimming highbeams
    Adaptive cruise control
Lane departure warning, but NOT lane change assist
    XM radio
    Apple car play
    Soft open locking tailgate

    That’s pretty neat.

i had all that on my 2020 before it was totaled. only thing that was missing on the 2020 was the intermittent wipers afaik.

The only thing from the list that my '17 had was the soft opening locking tailgate.

I added cruise control for $27. It does automatically cancel with the clutch pedal depression too. Yay!!
I am very happy to NOT have the auto-dim, apple play, lane depart, and adaptive cruise. I want to be involved with, and in charge of, driving my vehicle.

I would like intermittent wipers and XM radio though. I am in work on installing the XM part. But not interested in having to remove the steering wheel to install the wiper mod. Not that important and it's quick & easy enough for me to tap the wiper stalk when needed.

Just my 2 cents. Every one is different (Thank God!).

My only gripe with the utility package is, can’t get with the V6. Really wanted the rear seat delete on my ACLB, wanted the V6 more. Guess could always rip them out and almost did, but had to use the jump seats a few times so apparently they are staying.

You don’t need to remove the steering wheel to install the intermittent wiper switch just need to remove the shroud around the column

That's good to know. Thought I'd read that the whole wheel had to be removed for the wiper mod. Never searched any further since it wasn't a game changer for me.
I did the cruise control and only the airbag and a one side trim cover had to come off. Was a piece of cake to do.

Thats a sharp looking truck man! I used to have a gray frontier with a beard and it’s surprising how good utility trucks look.

Thanks! I was honestly on the fence about the beard at first - concerned it just felt cheap. I have to say after I got my new wheel and tire setup it feels more rugged and like a unique feature. I really like the gray on black contrast too

First time Tacoma owner and I went with the Utility Package to keep costs as low as possible. I went ahead and ordered the WeatherTech non-flare mudflaps due to the gravel and rocks here in NC. Any other “must haves” for what I’m learning is called the Bearded Taco?

Congrats man! That’s a nice looking truck. Get some all terrain or mud tires tires on there. Go up to 265/75/16s or 255/85/16s and it’ll make the truck look completely different. Post some pics when you get some hogs in the bed! Hog hunting is awesome.

I added the Weathertech mudflaps and the black TACOMA letters to the tailgate which both look GREAT IMHO. When the tires wear out I’ll definitely upgrade to black rims and larger tires- but that’ll be down the road sometime. This Tacoma is my everyday driver so I can keep the 392 ScatPack Widebody Challenger in the garage. The Tacoma SR Utility is EXACTLY what I needed and I love it!

Well fellas I hate to say it but I traded my beard for a TRD offroad 6 speed manual. I just prefer the stick shift and down here only trd package gets manual option and this will be the last year most likely for a manual option tacoma or a 6 cylinder for that matter but I will still be around guys here she is.
