The door lock, periodically, operates very stiffly. When it happens I coat the key with graphite, work it around inside the lock, and it smoothes out; only to act up again in a few months.
Anyone else experiencing a similar problem with the door lock on their SR Utility Package ?

I've a '17 also and have NOT had any issues with the door or tailgate lock.
Thankful that there are only the two outside that could get dirt in them. (The ignition inside stays pretty clean, of course.)

How well does that white plasti-dip match the Super White 2 color? Also, we well has it held up?

How do you like the driving character of the 6MT? Some folks complain about the rev hang and simulated Atkinson cycle--that it feels very indirect for a manual.

The end of a generation, and potentially the end of bearded Taco's. Happy I was able to jump on one.

Great to meet you- mine is a 2017 SR Utility, 4cyl, 5MT 4x4. The tint was on it when I bought the truck in 2018- CPO purchased at 7,000 miles on it from previous owner. It is stock height, with 265 /75 R16 (31.6”). I don't plan on lifting it or anything, but have put on a bunch of add-ons. The truck is great and gets me on and off-road where I need to go. Currently at 55K. Here's how it currently sits...looks just like yours, except I added flares and sliders and blacked out the 4X4 on the tailgate. Other than that, still fully stock.

Stock (99.999%) OEM Bed Floor Mat, Front Bed Rail Cargo Net and hooks, Auto-Dim mirror w/Compass and outside Temperature display, TRD Pro Grille, Uni-Filter air pump modification, WeatherTech floor liners f/r. OEM All-Weather floor mats (summer).
I have heard of these but have never seen one in the wild. I always thought that if I could afford to swing owning two Tacoma's, (I can't) this flavor would be one of them.
Are they available as a manual w 4x4? That would be perfect.

Not a Utility Package, but my tailgate sticks when I turn it most of the time ever since I bought it. I have to gently work it, or turn it the other direction (basically lock it even th it's already locked), and then it will usually go.

It's not a huge deal but I hate that I have to use my only key to do it. I've had a key snap off in a frozen lock before, and I can definitely image a scenario where my girlfriend goes to grab something out of it while camping or something, and just shears the key off. Would not be a good time.

When it's below freezing I still get a little nervous when I have to apply any force. Could have worse problems with the truck. Now that I think of it I should just invest in a second key fob.......

Pretty sure the tailgate lock is just a dumb key lock so you could probably have a cheap regular key made without a chip and just use it on the tailgate.
