Damn. I'm about to pull my blower motor now. It might be a good idea in your case to do the cabin filter retrofit with chicken wire or maybe some other type of grille material.

You haven't pulled it already? It's a hex (serrated-type for plastic) screw (easy to strip thread) but a thin Philips will work.
But if the issue is in the evap housing or ducting it's harder to know without removing the dash. Unless you have some fancy instruments of course.

I actually was surprised how easy it was to pull the blower. Didn't even need to remove the glove box.

Just did it. But I pulled the glove box and bracket to pull this thing out to get a little better access. Too many twists and turns otherwise. Definitely some gunk in here.

What the heck is this thing anyways??

Have a front-ways view of the electrical connector? Should be a p/n close by. But honestly don't know what that is? Looks like an element or thermostat.

No clue. But now I'm trying to separate the bottom half of the evap box..

What trouble are you having with removing it?

I've removed the drain hose, one screw and two clips. Still doesn't seem to want to separate

I believe there's two more clips near the fire wall

Never mind. I see now there's an additional clip and two screw. Doubt I will be able to reach.

This shit is idiotic. Here's a pic taken from another write up.

You would think they would have made it so you could remove the bottom half to clean debris without removing the entire damn thing. Ergh.
I saw some much smaller vacuum tools at HD that I will try to pick up tomorrow. I can pull down the front half of the casing enough to suck some shit up... not much but better than nothing

It looks like it's described in AC-26 of the FSM for what it's worth.

Yeah, I saw that. But I don't want to remove the entire evap. I had to double check it before I started breaking plastic bits.

Might just flush with a hose after vacuuming what I can. Is that dumb?

I'll be sure to report back. It'll at least be easier to spray the foaming stuff in there with the case slightly spread apart.

That part is the blower motor resister for the fan speed operation. The white ceramic is in the air stream to cool it off.
