no bolt grommets on the 2.7l engine, OEM or Fel pro gaskets, might need a 2 small dabs of RTV black on the head area where the timing cover mates up on the block

I think you have saved me some $$ and a lot of aggravation trying to decide on a purchase I don't even need - I've got a good torque wrench - It's pretty big - I use it mostly for lug nuts - 83 ft lbs - hopefully there is enough room to use it on this project. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

basically it would be 6 1/2 ft./pds. for a good reason those bolts have a habit of snapping off if over stressed read this and watch the video, theres also a few very good DIY videos on YOUTUBE https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/want-to-make-sticky-diy-valve-cover-gasket.349482/page-2

Yes - I too have read about them snapping off which is why I was going to invest but since I have never needed inch pounds before and I've been a DYI for 60 years and done everything but wheel alignment and tire balance I never bought a inch pound torque wrench and won't now - 6 1/2 ft./pds it is. Thanks again.

I have done a few valve cover gaskets on some of my past Nissans...transmission bolts, etc without any issues.
