It seems to be like most owners have double cabs, is that a correct assumption?

I think there is a poll on this already but yes, I think DC's are more popular.

A lot of people start with an Access Cab and end up trading up for a Double Cab. I'm one of them.

Check my build thread...too much to list.
That's how I did it. Went from an 03 A/C and traded that in for my 09 D/C.

I bought an access cab because I didn't need the extra room . . . until two little boys later came along! I still have my access cab (it's paid off), and we just use my wife's Honda Pilot to haul the boys.

About two years after I bought my truck, and a year after the birth of my oldest, I went to the dealer looking to trade up to a DCLB (I refuse to settle for the dinky short bed). At the time, my truck only had about 16,000 miles on it, and I still would have been AT LEAST $10,000 out-of-pocket after trading in my already-paid-off 4x4 TRD Offroad automatic access cab!

So, long story short: If I had the money I'd get a DCLB because I have two cheer'uns. However, I prefer the look and utility of the access cab (I like my fold-flat rear jump seats when loading cargo that needs to stay out of the weather).

    plasti dipped wheel caps,

were you talking about us TW'ers? or just in general? if so, MOST everybody (the masses) have either families or need for 2 extra full size doors, whether it be full sized, mid, small, or compact. truck or car. just take a look at all the new vehicles that come out. you don't see a whole lot of 2 door coupes or trucks, etc.

Autoblog.com, it covers anything and probably everything to do with the automotive industry. aside from personal observation, it just seems to reinforce what i personally observe.

Then you'll have to debate the longbox or shortbox. That can be a tough decision!

Most folks on this forum have DC's because they usually come with all the different packages and bells an whistles that bear modification questions with them. There are PLENTY of regular and access cabs around me but most of them are work trucks or owner by people who really don't take advantage of car forums because they leave their trucks as is.
