As someone who works in the real estate field, I'm elated that my first ever vehicle purchase is one that holds it's value so well it's practically an investment. I've been dreaming of owning a taco all throughout college, and now that I can finally afford it I saved up to realize that dream.

Could not be happier to join the Tacoma World.
BTW, is it a weird to thumbs up every other taco I see on the road? Haha maybe my spazziness will wear off in time.

Still not an investment... At least in terms of holding a potentially appreciating asset.

However, the truck (or the marvel of modern transport in general) has the ability to open doors or allow you acces to things that could be assets long term... :notsure:

    Regardless, cool truck and welcome!

The Tacoma is going to drop value, but just not as fast as everything else in the category.

come to Texas and you'll get sick of that pretty quick. or you'll end up in a telephone pole from waving constantly.

IMO vehicles these days aren't an investment. They won't last long enough, designed to be disposable.

I think the only time I've waived to another Tacoma was not on a paved road. Around here only mototcyclists & Subaru enthusiasts wave to each other.

Vehicles depreciate, investments make you money.

I’m not a supporter of the gay jeep wave. Tacoma people are better than that.

A vehicle is the worst “investment”. If you think purchasing a vehicle as an investment you should rethink your money management practice. Why? Because the vehicle doesn’t go up in value after you buy it. You are also putting money into it every year, insurance, registration, gas, maintenance etc.

I understand that there are ultra collectors vehicles out there but those were purchased at a high value to begin with... and not for daily use.

Investments in happiness are not always 'financial investments'...I'd have twice as much money in savings if not for my truck (and this forum), but I'd have a hell of a lot less great memories. Welcome!
