What year Accord is it and how many cylinders does it have? 4 or 6?

Don't hold your breath if you overheated it. Many Honda's are very sensitive to overheating issues.

In saying that. If they did your water pump and t belt, chances are very high they damaged one of the hoses as they were pulling them. Now the next line is very important.

Did they specifically say physically inspect cooling hoses, or did it say visually inspect cooling hoses? That could make all the difference in how this will play out.

Also, how many miles do you have on it?

You could find a used Honda for less than 6k that still had plenty if life left in it

In 2013, my dad sold our 2004 Honda Odyssey EX to his boss for $3,500. 133K miles, ICE COLD A/C, and in near-mint condition...

Sticker in '04 was like $28K and I think my dad got them down to $22K-$24K.

Best damn vehicle we ever had!

By the way, these pictures were taken after my dad's boss owned it for a few years (note Delaware plate).

Sucks to hear that. Hopefully the dealer takes care of it as it sounds like they messed with things they shouldn't have. I recently picked up a daily, '12 Accord coupe 5spd with 260k miles for $4.5k. Exterior and interior looks practically brand new. Only reason why I was okay with the mileage was because it was literally all highway miles and a used motor is only $800ish.

So after over a week waiting for the phone call on my car they called Monday. It needs a new engine. The dealer had been working with honda and they are going to replace the engine. Said it was a $14,000 repair. Only thing they required from me was $500. This far exceeded my expectations as I’m sure it would have for anyone.

If it wasn't your fault $500 is still to much, but at least it is better than $14,000.

Agreed. You’re probably paying their deductible. However, would I pay it to get this all over with? Yes sir.

Good OP. You are making out in this deal even paying the 500 dollars.

I picked up a '15 Accord EX-L V6 CPO last month. Put about 2k miles on her already. She's been great so far.

That’s awesome! I’ve had 6 Honda’s and have never had any issues with any of them. Our Pilot has 265,000 and my parents have my 96 Accord and it has just short of 300,000 on it. Great cars! Hopefully my Toyota will be the same! My 13 is running fine since the repairs were done. No issues at all!

Damn! I had the '96 Accord from 2003 to 2007 that my grandparents gave me when they got a new car. They were the original owners of the '96 Accord. Then my parents ran it for a few years until some bitch rear ended my dad while he was driving it. She was uninsured.
