On Veterans Day (November 11, 2013), a group of disabled and able-bodied military veterans and civilians will make a bid for the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro (5,895m). K2 Adventures Foundation will put together a diverse team of military veterans, active-duty soldiers and civilians to tackle Africa’s highest peak in celebration of those who have served and those who continue to serve.

Please feel free to check out our website: http://veteranstothesummit.org.

“Veterans to the Summit” will provide an opportunity for former service members to experience camaraderie and a sense of belonging while also contributing to ongoing development efforts in Moshi, Tanzania. The team will not only climb a peak, but will also spend a few days working with children at the Mwereni Integrated School for the Blind. This school is made up of 520 students and 74 orphans that live on property. The 74 orphans suffer from either albinism, blindness or the genetic disease called Xeroderma Pigmentosum.

We are looking for any military personal or civilians to join us for the climb in November. If you are interested, fill out an application at http://veteranstothesummit.org/join-the-team/.

Also, if you are not able to make it on the trip but would like to contribute, you are more than welcome to make a donation. Your donation will go to the fundraising aspect of the team members.

If you have any questions or would like more information you can PM or email me directly at trevor@k2adventures.org

Thank you for your time and service, and please feel free to share with anyone that would be interested.
