vF Tuner for the 3.5L Tacoma

New features coming in vF Tuner (July)
The next update is going to be MASSIVE.
- New tables for several vehicles based on latest ds- development.
- Transmission control for the AT 3.5L Tacoma
- All new built in Datalogger with all SAE PIDs, and Toyota Enhanced Diagnostics. Quickly switch between log parameters, values, live graphs, and tune maps.
- New Feature WOP Record - Setup specifcally for dyno testing, you can do 20 second records that auto record and save logs for you at the end of the run.
- New Feature - Live graphs.

It's nearly ready



Regarding clutch in Throttle, I'll check the code on what happens when clutch is engaged and see if it modifies / limits throttle. If so, I'll add the tables.

Shouldn't be hard to disassemble the code , took me about a year but I finally found all of Toyota's tricks for hiding reference points / pointers to tables in the code.

You should get all the tunes available for your ecu.

 

Yeah I downloaded them and just went for it. I think everything went properly. I just don’t know how to clear the memory that was talked about earlier... I think they were called tables.

 

How important is it to have your ecu updated to the latest version before flashing vf tunes? I've tried everyway posted and still couldn't get techstream to work.

 

On VFTUNE click clear LV Fuel.

 

What problems are you having? I had some issues as well but @tonered really helped me out

 

Anyone else think they shoulda put that effort and creativity into making the truck drive better lol?

Thanks! I drove around without doing that and holy shit what a difference even without the premium fuel too! The transmission isn’t constantly shifting hunting for gears, throttle response is much improved. It honestly feels like how is should have been from the factory. Excellent work @OVTune!! I’m still in the “learning” phase and it drives a ton better than it did when it was factory!

 

Does the ECT button still function as normal with just the standard tune?

 

Thanks to everyone who helped me get here and for answering all my elementary questions! @Shellshock @runmc @lapoltba @SuperBad but especially to @tonered and @wrightme43. The process is actually quite easy once you’ve gone through it but I’m gonna pay it forward and make a video showing the process from beginning to end. If you’re on the fence, go for it! OVTunes new 106 page manual will answers a lot of your questions in the first 20 pages.

I make it as far as input the key but have no way to get a key to finish it. The instructions say paste your I'd in the key generator but I couldn't find one

 

Do you have a black screen with anscii characters on it? Looks like back in the 90s computer screen. Then it generates a key. Copy and paste into Techstream registration. Then make sure you are off internet after it sees the login. I hope that helps and makes sense. I have only done it once and was following the instructions.

 

The key generator gets deleted by windows defender when you install TS because it thinks it’s a virus.

 

Completely disable windows defender then download the zip file again for the installation, you’ll likely see it then. Let me know if you don’t, I had troubles with that exact part.
