I am waiting patiently, it's always been worth the time. Hang in there, my current 2.0 stock THX is working great all around and getting some added features bundled in with tuning is the icing. Are so unhappy you'd rather be stock??

When Rafael has all of the files ready.
It's like 400 files, and we first had to release it for people to use and put some miles on.

Sure, blame the FNG for the delay

Kidding, just really anxious to get 2.0F with performance map and GL, tweak my alternator settings for AGM and live happily ever after. I haven’t been able to convince myself to go back to previous 2.0 betas. While 2.0F released isn’t as peppy and no GL, it is so damn smooth and refined. If the performance tune shares the same level of refinement, it’ll be perfection, for me.

    Hi all,

I think I am not getting something, appreciate if someone can set me straight. Playing with vF Tuner for 04A61, and the stock gear sizes listed in the vF 1D tables do not match the gear ratios I've seen published by Toyota on the interwebs for this transmission. I am trying to map vehicle speed (mph) to engine speed (rpm) to fine tune my preferred shift points.

    Gear......Toyota Ratio........vF Ratio
    1..............3.60.................3.14
    2..............2.09.................1.76
    3..............1.49.................1.25
    4..............1.00.................0.84
    5..............0.69.................0.58
    6..............0.58.................0.48

Thanks for any help you can provide.

I'll double check the scaling on these and make an update if it is off

I am unhappy with the stock tune. That is why I bought the tune pack. What I want to do is build off the great work that has been done by Matt and team. By no means do I want to start a dumpster fire but it has been a awhile since things were paid for but delivery seems to have happened for the MT folks only. I get there are 400 tunes but as one can expect I and others paid $400 each and haven't gotten what was ordered.

I'm behind VFtuner and am really trying my best to learn the ecosystem created here. I think it'll be great.

If you bought the tune pack, you should have received a reg key and can flash the current 2.0 tunes while you wait for the vF tune packs to arrive to further customize them. You don’t have to stay stock until the tune packs arrive.

Ok, I'm sorry to be one of those guys, but I don't have enough brain cells to process this. As I understand it, 2.0 for AT is out but it's not its final form but still damn good. This is ready to flash if I buy VFTuner and the 3.5L pack for 04A61. Later on, the final form 2.0 is released. I'll be able to flash that immediately without buying anything else, because I'm on the same ECU ID? I've also heard that work is being done to access additional ECUs (the transmission ECU, I think). I'll also have free access to those when released?

BLUF: buy VFTuner to flash and edit. Buy the tune pack for my ECU ID and I can flash whatever my heart desires whenever it's released so long as my ECU ID remains the same?

yes. but Shellshock is saying to not edit the stock tune. just flash a tune of your choice from the tune pack for your ECU. and yes, if Toyota offers a revised ECU calibration via TSB, then Mat will be on top of it and you'll have the eventual option to update your OV tune file. you can edit the stock file with vF, but that's not what you're wanting. you want the latest, but true that final is not yet available for ATs.

Well technically 2.0 final IS available for AT’s just not the 2.0 final (final form with full features)... I’ll say it until I’m blue in the face lol, why was it ever named “final”?! I think that is probably the #1 cause for confusion to prospective customers. It’s like the last couple chapters of a book all being titled “THE END”.

Right I do have 2.0 but not editable which is what I thought I was paying for based on tune pack ad...

Ok, I think I'm picking up what you're putting down. I don't know why my last two brain bytes have so much trouble with this.

here's the point you need, i think: vF is the custom tuning solution and all that. but it has the Toyflash tool built into it. click the button, select the file (tune) from the filepack, and it uploads it to your ECU and you're done. it's a separate function from all the tuning details folks are talking about around here.

Yeah, not smart enough to want to try to edit tunes just yet. Just looking to flash the juicy 2.0 goodness and my impatience is getting the better of me since 2.0 Final Final Form isn't out yet.

Correct, that’s what’s included in the tune pack but the files have not been released for all the ecus yet

you get the noneditable 2.0 tunes while you wait

Use the snipping tool (search it on your computer) to show screen shots of what you’re clicking on and trying to do. It sounds like you’re using the wrong button.
