vF Tuner for the 3.5L Tacoma

Just seeing these posts this morning. My cable is in Covington, you're welcome to try it to see if that solves your problem. But we're busy today getting ready to go on a trip tomorrow, so you'd have to come get it. Easy to get to if you take I-55 to I-12.

 

Anyone on 5.29s make a custom tune similar to @Mooseditty17 or @ForceOfG ?

 

You guys are going to make my lazy ass edit my b14 tune... Lol. I'll get on this soon.
I'm also still interested in the rev hang. I need to figure that one out too

Yep.

It pulls a lot smoother. Admittedly, this could be partially due to the Air Load table smoothing we did too in my case.

It's weird.. I've become so used to this engine's power delivery coming on in fits and starts, especially with SFOB premium, that smooth seems somehow... strange lol.

 

The Rev Hang thing has to start with Mat

 

Just don't rev it and it won't hang.

I already shot him an email Friday. I'd prefer to not flash his test tune, but instead, make the edits to my tune. We'll see!

Hey @OVTune What tables control the 5.29 5th and 6th gear max speed limit? I'm really happy with the Premium 5.29 33 tune. My biggest complaint is not being able to go faster then ~80mph on the highway.

What effect does changing just the gear ratio have? Specifically, if I wanted to try one of @Mooseditty17 tunes and just changed the gear size and shift points, would it be a good start. Or should other changes be made to dial it in?

 

What about those of us without a 10-key pad to get *?

In the latest version of VFT a new table got added called 'Vehicle Maximum Global Speed' I believe you want to up this to raise the speed limiter.

 

I’ll give it a shot. Jfyi, presently I can hit 115 in 4th, but immediately governed to ~80 mph upon the upshift to 5th and 6th.

 

It's turned off by default. You can enable it in the settings.

 

I hit 98 in third yesterday. More left, had to let off... You're getting 115 in fourth and when it shifts to 5th nannies slow you down???? That's messed up!

 

yep. I think it's because the rpms with 5.29s at >85 in 5th and 6th are at/above allowable for max speed with 3.9s. Going to test now.
