I have his file. How would I go about changing the gear ratio or verifying if it has 4.88 gears since my truck has it

Do I just flash this file or do I need to reset the original file I had on the truck already

Just open up vfFlash, click flash it, then choose that file. You can run it with 4.88 gears. The shift points are fine.

Yes so much yesssss. That is amazing and the computer hasn't level out yet I got wheel spin from 1-3 with DC extream country 33s. Now I need to test it off road

@OVTune Does the MT 2.0 04B14 have the single torque map patch? Mine looks different from the version that was posted above for Gear 1.

I've got a couple questions on the AirLoad Control Tables. I've been trying to follow what folks are doing, but I think I've got something wrong in (or with) my head. Over the past week or so, I've done a lot of the smoothing from the Torque Limit Thread, but I keep messing things up in the 2K - 3K RPM range @ about 20% throttle. A smoother graph doesn't seem to equate to a smoother butt dyno pull (at least not at low throttle angles). What I'm trying to do now is to take my smoothed values and paste in values from a SuperFOB tune (2K - 3.2K RPM from 0 - 41.25 Engine Load) to see if that helps. Hopefully tomorrow morning I'll be able to test that out, but the eyeball test looks odd.

My problem seems to be 3 fold. I imagine what I really need is the webinar on AirLoad Control Theory, but that might just make my head explode when it comes out. Does anyone have "... for dummies" explanation of:

    1) What Engine Load equates to on the AirControl tables? Is this at all related to throttle position?
    2) What the 4th dimension (lambda) means?
    3) What the relationship between the "Control AirFlow" table and the "Expected AirFlow" table is?

Then, if I might make an @OVTune "feature request" ;) Any chance we could reflect highlighted columns from the 2D Chart on the 3D Chart? I try to count the lines to identify peaks and valleys and look for "out of place numbers", but I'm an old guy and I'm not real good at hitting the right spot most of the time. I feel that I end up making changes with a negative impact before I hit the peak or valley that I'm targeting, especially since there isn't an undo :boink: (at least not beyond saving my original values off in Excel or something). Oh... and it doesn't look like the 3D tables are updated after a paste, if I close the table or toggle the "lambda"; then it updates, but not automatically after a paste.

Where did OV post this update to throttle control?

But I would really like to know if there is a purpose built off road tune. Because I think building one by my self might be alittle too much for my skin level of 0.

What is it you are looking for? The base 2.0 tune by itself is leaps and bounds above stock. Throttle response is better, shifting is better, power delivery is better. With VF, it's fairly easy to adjust shift points if that is what you are after.

What characteristics would you consider to be off-road in a tune? Depending on the type of terrain a person travels, and at what speeds, that can really vary.

Low to mid rpm basically a tune that will allow optimum performance and torque while in 4l gears 1-3.

Well I need a couple of tunes I need a tune for 4l that keeps power mainly below 2000 rpm and in the 123 gear range, for rubicon then I think the 2.0 will work well for moab because that will vary from 4l to 4h and I just need a good gradual power band. Then at denali I am going to need a tune that has ok power in 4l but main focus needs to be gears 345 for higher speed travel in 4h and various ground changes.

Will you also need these tunes in both a premium and regular octane, in case of large fluctuations in gas prices, especially with the election so near?

That's a bit vague... The 2.0 tune definitely has better low end torque than stock. The biggest thing is predictability of throttle response. In addition, all artificial torque limiting is eliminated. I suggest trying the base tune, or find someone locally that will either flash for you or let you drive their truck. It is literally a night and day difference.
